Absolutely disgraceful service. My grandmother paid £45 for a simple sick note for an insurance claim, and after a month, we are still waiting. No urgency, no updates, just complete indifference.

I also paid £30 for a doctor to sign a form confirming my exam anxiety so I could have a separate room during exams. That was TWO YEARS AGO, and they never completed it. No refund, no explanation, just silence. I’ve chased multiple times, and they either ignore me or make excuses.

It’s ridiculous that they take money for private services but don’t actually provide them. Patients are left waiting endlessly with no communication, and there’s no accountability. Really disappointing.

Additionally, the medical staff at Macdaff Medical Practice often seem disinterested or lacking in empathy toward patient needs. The lack of warmth and engagement can make patients feel ignored or undervalued, which can negatively impact their medical visit experience.

Finally, the quality of medical care at Macdaff Medical Practice may also be questioned. Sometimes diagnoses are inaccurate, treatments inadequate or overly reliant on prescriptions, and patients may feel uninformed or inadequately cared for by the medical staff.

In addition, reception staff, who are not authorized to perform medical procedures, often inquire about patients' symptoms, which is beyond their competence and can lead to incorrect diagnoses or recommendations. Furthermore, reception staff may be rude and impolite to patients, further worsening the medical visit experience.

In urgent cases, the medical staff at Macdaff Medical Practice can be completely insensitive to a patient's pain and suffering, ignoring their condition entirely. The lack of empathy and understanding from the medical staff can make patients feel unnoticed and unappreciated in their health needs.

All these issues contribute to a negative patient experience at Macdaff Medical Practice and lead many to seek alternative healthcare facilities where their needs are better understood and met.

Useless. Toothless. Because I've a minor injury I can't see a doctor and need to phone NHS 111. They have a 45 minute call waiting cue. This is exactly why the accident and emergency departments are blocked because people bypass these two systems because of the ridiculous waiting times and not being able to see a human. All I want is an oppinion as to what I need to do and how serious it is.

I would like to say how impressed I am with the practice this week. I have called on three occasions. Each time I was called back. Both doctors (DR Smith and DR Mishra) were very kind and sympathetic and dealt with my problems.

Called at 8 am, waited 10mins to get through, they triaged my call, offered me an appointment at 11. Consultation with a lovely and professional locum GP, booked in for blood tests same day at 1.15, Home by 2. Outstanding treatment and care.

Went in today for an emergency appointment. Easy to arrange via telephone. Bloods taken, results within 3 hours.

All staff (including receptionists) been very helpful. Have previously seen nurses and doctors and have always been taken seriously. No idea what the bad reviews are about. If you work nights just fill out the forms before you finish. If you're told to go to the chemist, go to the chemist. Too many people unaware of the qualifications of other healthcare professionals, including chemists.

Never had a problem with the receptionists at all. I'd even go as far to say they seem to be worth their weight in gold (including the receptionist mentioned). I've seen them even give IT advice to those who can't figure out the extremely simple online system.

On the plus side I can see why its an embuggerance trying to get an appointment if everyone with minor ailments seems to think they should see a GP. Maybe they should take some classes in basic IT and simple manners? Possibly even read up a wee bit on the qualifications and "powers" of other medical professionals? Or ?TIA because not everything is connected upstairs?

The bad side of this place? Parking. But that could just be me... I can't park for tuffies... I just wanted to get in on the "I'm raging over something miniscule and I want to feel heard, even if it means I'm in the wrong" rhetoric. ☺

I always update my reviews accordingly. There seems to be a better system in place now. And while still some issues Macduff Medical is running as well as can be expected with the strain the NHS is under and with the difficulties they have had staffing clinicians.

Cannot get an appointment to see a doctor, can only go online between 6 am and 11.30 am to fillout on line form.
So what happens if you work nights and need to sleep at this time. what is it is not urgent You just want a check up as something doesn't feel right. Absolutely disgusted in this practise. I have never been criticised the NHS, but this is the worst medical practise.
