Doctor was over 30 minutes late to my partners appointment he had to walk out. Even checked with reception twice asking what happening as the other appointments were going smoothly but wasn’t given a timeframe. Asked reception to rebook the appointment to the earliest they have before he had to leave as explained he had somewhere else now but it’s been noted that it was only a walk out and no appointment booked so now he have to wait the weekend to try get another appointment.

I wish he was in the catchment for my doctors as they would never let that fly with them

I’ve been living in Cambridge for 3 years and recently moved to London just a few weeks ago. I highly recommend Landsfield GP in Cambridge to anyone new to the area. They are understanding and always aim to provide the best service. This was my second GP in Cambridge, and I felt very well cared for. I especially appreciate Dr. Waters—she’s truly excellent. If you’re new to Cambridge, I strongly advise you to consider this practice!

GP is very professional and understanding, other staff I interacted with were also kind and professional. I also had a cervical screening here and the nurse was very supportive and gentle, she explained in detail everything she was going to do so I didn't have to worry.

I do find their appointments system good and am usually seen within a reasonable time, but the appointment becomes a waste of time for the patient if the practice has mislaid or not processed a referral onto their system. The whole point of an appointment can be for the patient to then be able to follow up, in this case, with the Boots audiology department. I will now need to see if I can get a further copy of the missing information - wastes my time, wastes Boots' time, may need to make another appointment for a more useful GP assessment....

I would not have mentioned this if it had not happened before, but it did. Sometime during the pandemic the practice did not process the report sent to them after a mammogram, and they showed on my records that the appointment hadn't happened. They wouldn't ring the mammogram people to check. I had to, and they confirmed that I had been, but they wouldn't resend the information to the practice.

So POOR COMMUNICATION between different sorts of health providers in the mammogram case, and POOR PROCESSING OF PAPERWORK in both instances (which could in some cases have serious consequences) is why this only has 2 stars.

The knock on consequences are not just my time and not being certain that a health issue has been correctly assessed, but actually wasting OTHER professionals' time having to confirm information / send it through again, which also costs other people money. Failings in one area of health can have knock on costs for others..... it's not just about pouring more money into the NHS ...it's about not causing costs for other people. Has to become much more efficient in the administrative department.

Even booking an appointment is a struggle - you can't do it by phone, you have to fill an online form, and you can only do it during designated time slots (not even throughout their opening hours) unless they switch it off completely in which case you have to wait until they switch it back on. When I spoke to the receptionist and pointed it out, I was informed I could try elsewhere and that their doctors liked the system. One can get the impression that they don't care about their patients.

This GP practice is amazing. I have been going here for 3 years and everything is always great. I'm so grateful and feel lucky to live near this medical practice. The staff is kind, prompt and knowledgeable. They have even made follow-up calls to check if my recovery is going well. Thank you Lensfield staff for your kind and valuable service!

The best GP practice I’ve ever had. I have chronic back problems and whenever it flares up, I usually feel bad about calling up the GP because I know it’s chronic and muscular and there are many people with more serious issues who need support more than me but every time I called, every doctor I spoke to made me feel like they care and they always say “we are here to make sure you are better”. With my old GP, I used to have to wait days (10 days on one occasion) and by the time they offer an appointment, I would have either gotten worse and had to get extra treatment or I went to a private GP and got myself sorted but with lensfield, they always make time for patients and if they are over capacity, they always make sure they still contact you and speak to you. The receptionists, nurses and doctors are all super super nice as well!

Really good doctor and very kind stuff. I wouldn't have been able to manage without my GP at Lensfield Medical Practice. She listened, and helped me in the best possible way to start being monitored in London! It took ages, but with patience and support she managed to help me. 🙂
