Located in a charming suburb of Bolton, The Last Drop Village Hotel is ideally situated with a selection of lovely nearby restaurants. Arriving at the hotel through the main gate, I was struck by the appealing exterior and the historic charm that really sets it apart.||The check-in experience was pleasant, thanks to the friendly receptionist, and the reception area had a warm, welcoming feel, as did the bar. I decided to try the food from the bar menu, and it did not disappoint—the chicken wings and burger were both fantastic, well-priced, and perfectly cooked.||However, my stay took a downturn when I got to my room. I had room 306, a superior room, but sadly it was a huge disappointment. The room was in a poor state of repair and in need of urgent refurbishment. Despite the generous space, it didn’t feel clean, with visible stains on the tables and a welcome tray that looked cheap and didn’t even fit the table properly. The bathroom was also dated, although the ESPA toiletries were a nice touch. While there was a large TV on the wall, its placement was odd—not aligned with the bed or the seating area—making it difficult to enjoy a comfortable viewing experience.||The hotel’s spa has great potential and initially looked impressive. Unfortunately, during my visit, it wasn’t fully operational, and from speaking with members, this seems to be a frequent issue. The steam room wasn’t producing any steam and was quite cold, while the sauna was below 60°C, which limited its effectiveness. The small infinity pool was nice in design, but it overlooked the kitchens of the new Sanctuary houses, which took away from the intended relaxing ambiance.||In summary, The Last Drop Village Hotel has a lot of potential, with a unique location, a lovely bar, and fantastic food. However, the rooms are in need of a modernisation, and the spa facilities could benefit from regular maintenance and thoughtful improvements. With some investment in these areas, the hotel would be much more appealing, and I’d be more inclined to return in the future.

This is a lovely place, at the outskirts of Bolton, surrounded by the countryside, pet friendly, so ideal to bring your dog. It is a hotel complex in the shape of a historical village, which gives it a unique and different feel. It is far from anything but you got all you need including a pool, spa, hotel bar, a pub, restaurant, boutiques and an old bakehouse. There is also plenty of outdoor seating space. The rooms are clean, not massive but big enough for a few nights. There was no fridge in the room, which was problematic for us as our dog is on a raw food diet. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the service was good and on the ball. The communal areas could be a bit cleaner but were ok. It is a very quiet place so we got a good rest and were able to relax. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this for a shorter trip of 2-3 nights for which it is ideal.

Arranged my sisters hen do for 14 of us - overnight package including 2 course meal and breakfast with access to spa facilities. I also paid for a private dining room. It was excellent, from start to finish everyone I spoke to was so helpful. Special shout out to Jess and the catering team serving our evening meal - so approachable and helpful, the food was delightful and everything was served hot and quickly. Breakfast was equally as nice. We only had access to the private dining area until around 9.30 and had to move to the Drop Inn bar at that point. Unfortunately there was no music and the juke box didn’t work, which did put quite an abrupt end to the night as it did dampen the atmosphere a bit. As a group of nearly 40/over 40s we were looking for a raucous evening but some music in the background whilst have a cocktail would have finished the night off nicely. Spa facilities are lovely with a range of sauna and steam rooms. And the actual area/ surroundings itself - reminds me of being in a little town. Really was beautiful!

Booked this for my friends birthday. What a place. We have been to various spa hotels and for what we paid here it out shines any of them.|Fantastic staff, room stunning, spa facilities amazing, can tell they maintain the equipment and rooms. Really can not fault the place, breakfast was so nice. If you haven't visited then book. |The thermal pool looking out to the housing estate isn't really that much of an issue but would be the only thing I would change.|Staff very attentive and full of info. I work in hospitality and this place went above and beyond. Could easily do a full weekend here! STUNNING

The Drop Inn had good beer! Function room was large and temperature was good. The spa was excellent and going twice was a bonus. Bedroom was immaculate. Staff friendly, relaxed atmosphere with the unique street layout at the back. Nice walks available from the back of the hotel.

I booked an 85-minute Deep Tissue Massage for myself and my boyfriend as a birthday treat, and unfortunately, we were both left incredibly disappointed.

From the start, there was no introduction or communication from the therapists. We weren't asked about any problem areas, pressure preferences, or even given a basic welcome. What was supposed to be a deep tissue massage felt more like a light, unstructured rub. There was no technique, no pressure adjustment, and no personalisation.

My boyfriend and I received noticeably different treatments, despite booking the same service. I had a mix of stones and hands used (without any explanation), while he only received a basic hand massage. Worse, his therapist had noticeably long nails that scratched his skin, cold hands, and a room that wasn’t warm enough to be comfortable. He also noticed an unpleasant smell of alcohol on her breath, which made the experience more uncomfortable.

Despite asking for more pressure, my boyfriend’s therapist seemed confused and repeated the same ineffective technique. He ended the massage feeling more tense than before it started.

My experience wasn’t much better. My therapist coughed into her hands midway through and continued the massage without washing them. There was still no communication, no check-in about how I was feeling during or after the treatment. I was simply offered water and sent on my way.

For a premium-priced service — even with the staff discount — this was shockingly poor. No feedback form, no follow-up, no care. We expected a relaxing and therapeutic experience, and instead left feeling frustrated and completely let down.

I strongly believe we should be offered a refund, or at the very least, the management should be aware of how unprofessional and inconsistent this service was. Sadly, this was the worst massage either of us has received.

Booked a last minute spa break for me and my daughter, and upon booking directly, Stephen was very helpful- sharing the best room rates and latest offers. The room was spacious and clean with separate hallway / dressing area . We ate at the hotel and the food (both during the evening and during breakfast) was tasty. On arrival, Jessica was very friendly and attentive. Kaitlin on the Reception desk was equally so helpful and very polite.

We stayed at The Last Drop at the beginning of the year and had an amazing time! Unfortunately, our trip was cut short due to heavy snow and issues at Manchester Airport, but despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming—from the reception team to the restaurant staff. The hotel is set in a beautiful location with a unique village feel, which added to the charm.

The food and service were excellent, and we also had a fantastic time at the spa.

We’ll definitely be back soon! Thanks for a great stay!
