First the good news.., found that certain health professionals and receptionists provide an excellent service, they are indeed professional and provide essential work.
That does not remove the fact that their working practices are undermined by more senior people, unfortunately the practice clearly needs more practice to improve.
The decent staff and health professionals are let down by some senior staff/management who, although they were initially generally helpful, have become increasingly dismissive to a point of totally ignoring the enquiries and concerns of patients, this is first hand experience.
Seems the sworn duties of care must be quite selective or perhaps only given lip service to the ethics of the Hippocratic Oath and the Florence Nightingale Pledge.
Maybe things can improve, hopefully time will shift the quality of service for the better.

If I could 0 stars I would. They refuse to add my type one diabetic medication onto the system. My diabetes team have sent an email across and still hasn’t been added. I don’t know how they expect with to live? I will be following up with a formal complaint and also a complaint to the ICB as it is truly disgusting. I don’t know what they expect me to do? I will die without my medication

Trying to get a repeat prescription for new medication for my husband who had been in hospital for over 10 weeks has been a nightmare!!!
Emails, a letter and telephone calls between me , the surgery and his last resource centre has been pitiful with the surgery causing it all.

Lovely practice. Knowledgeable and professional staff with helpful and polite receptionists at the front desk, and over the phone. Nothing seems too much trouble here. Easy enough to get an appointment when needed. Highly recommend.

Terrible doctors. Waiting weeks or months for appointments always getting prescriptions wrong and horrible receptionists. You have to wait 28 days for results that usually stretches to 6 or 7 weeks

To put things lightly. I'm horrified with how my mothers been treated here for the past year and a half. She experiences "very bad brain fog" which causes her to zone out then get confused. Today she was diagnosed with epilepsy and meningitis from hull Royal after a severe seizure early hours this morning. Whoever was treating her for her menopause and brain fog at this surgery has never and I mean NEVER thought the reason for this brain fog was absent seizures and I find that disgusting. Spoilers, they were and I was the only one who knew. Oh and one last thing! I cannot remember the nurses name but she sent a picture as well as a message to dermatology after a cancer scare. Not only I havent heard back, the nurse said I was "gaining a lot weight" which I found disgusting because this was from a comment my mam made that I quit dance class so put a little weight on. Plus she said my mole was rapidly growing and changing (spoilers, it wasnt!) Edit: Just found out you've all gotta go to epilepsy training cause you've been reported! HA

Though mostly polite, they take forever to answer the phone, that's once you actually get through the queue. 27mins today then. I only rang to see where my prescription was after being told last Thurs( a 20min wait in queue to get through) it had been sent electronically...it hadn't....a mix up on their part apparantly BUT didn't even apologise. I shouldn't have to ring up twice for my anxiety/depression meds. This is the 3rd time now. This surgery has gone down hill over the last few years. Buck your ideas up!

UPDATE: This surgery have upped their game over the last year. It's rare to be waiting more than 8-10 mins for the call to be answered. Staff are either knowledgeable or if not they find out for you. I've found them to be super polite and helpful. This means a lot to me with my anxiety. Well done!

Awful surgery with awful working practises. I used to be with a mental health team in Manchester who would order my depot to the clinic, keep it safe, and book me an appointment every 3 months. All I had to do was turn up. At JAFP, you can’t book an appointment more than 4-6 weeks in advance, they don’t order my depot for me and half the time when I go for my appointments there is a problem. They expect me to go to call them 2 weeks before to order my depot (the telephonist told me it would be ordered to the surgery, and she was wrong), then that call doesn’t actually order the depot, you then have to go to a pharmacy with a code to pick the injection up. I have responsibility for a £1500 injection that is essential for me. What if it gets lost or damaged? So now, I was supposed to have an appointment today, but because the telephonist told me that it would be ordered to the surgery I never ordered it at the pharmacy. I have to order it at the pharmacy, wait for it to be delivered, then have my appointment. No one ever gave me a pamphlet or anything with all the instructions on and the steps has been poorly communicated time after time. Worst doctors surgery I’ve ever been with by far. I’ll probably change doctors surgery when this is depot is done, I know that I’ll probably have to do the same stuff but I just don’t want to be with JAFP anymore.
