The whole service is much improved. I rang up with a chest infection at 8.00 am and went in the queue for a call back which came 30 mins later. I got an appointment that day for 12.10 pm and had my meds from the pharmacy at market place by 12.30. Job done. If you're always friendly and polite to the staff that is what you get back.

Appalling service. My husband was rang yesterday morning and asked to attend for an appointment at 16:15. He arrived 10 mi s before his allocated time and was told to wait...in an empty waiting room. 40 minutes later, he's still waiting!! He told the receptionist he had to go as he was on night shift. Oh you're next she says so he waits a further 10 mins before leaving. Utterly pointless and a waste of time. What a shambles. Why ask him to come at a certain time if there was no intention of seeing him? If there was a valid reason why the appointment was running late could they have shown some courtesy and told him? Of course not because patients are a nuisance and should be at the beck and call of the surgery. He still needs seeing does he get another appointment to waste his time again or does he have to pay privately? The latter seems to be what the NHS is pushing for.

The surgeries should not of merged together, the patients where not consulted and the patients did not give their consent. The surgeries should return to how they used to be prior to the merger. The standard of care has dropped and some of the best doctors have left. Patients should have access to doctors appointments without having to give the receptionist information. This is confidential information between doctor and patient. I have no issues with the doctors pharmacy, they are efficient and always helpful.

UPDATE: I finally received a call back well over two hrs later and was informed that I can not have a face to face appointment until I have had a telephone appointment. Which she could do next Friday. (12 days away) she did have appointments for tomorrow but was unable to give me one as I needed to call back at 8am to join the appointment lottery for same day appointments. Due to the shear pain I am in, I called 111 who sent a referral through to my surgery which I then had to phone back. After another hour on hold. I managed to get a telephone appointment for this afternoon. Why I had to put extra strain on other NHS services to be sent back to where I started over 3hrs ago is crazy!

I am now taking the route of making an official complaint to the surgery and the NHS England. All the staff are great but I feel there are significant failings in the way the surgery operates. If the relevant authorities are not made aware then nothing will ever change and people’s health and lives will continue to be put at risk because they can not get the care they need. When they need it

29-06-21 I have always found the staff and doctors to be more than helpful. However trying to get in touch with them is an absolute joke! And to try and actually see a doctor face to face is even worse. It’s disgraceful really. I think more should be done by the surgery to meet the needs of it’s patients. A better system for booking appointments is needed. I am currently sat here in significant pain waiting for a call back that I made nearly two hours ago to try and actually speak to someone. The Holdness health group operates 7 different surgeries in the Hull and East Ridings area. They all operate the same and in my opinion it’s just not good enough.

I tried to rate this with zero stars, but I am not allowed.

I'm totally at a loss with the incompetance of the interface between staff and patients that this practice shows. Latest clanger is blood test result that would be provided to me in a few days. Was it? No, no contact whatsoever. Person taking sample said that hearing nothing was good (sorry, but I have the right to know the result), but anyway I could always check on the NHS app. Nope, I am "not allowed access to that information." So I can book an appointment with a GP, nope, get in a telephone queue for a minimum of 1h to be told that all appointments (telephone, of course) are taken. Ah, book GP appointment in advance! Nope, 3 weeks time. Finally resort to the sorry outsourced online external contact, which takes 20 mins to provide all the info that my GP already has. Sorry folks, but you have really reached rock bottom in your "service provision."

Never had a bad experience in over 30 years of attending this medical practice. The difficulties experienced in getting an immediate appointment are not peculiar to this practice. The recently introduced telephone triage is a useful device to channel people to doctors best able to deal with their complaint. All staff are friendly and helpful.

well I've just had another bad experience with Holderness Health today the 8th of Sept 2020. I've tried for over 4 hours to get them to accept/ acknowledge an email which was sent from the H.R.I. I had everything from we have not received it , speak to the hospital, the hospital said that we have sent it, to them putting the phone down on me half way through the telephone conversation, to being refused the practice service managers business email so i can complain. I have had the "run-around". Surely, when some one is not present, all of their computers are not locked and access must be gained by someone in the building!!!!. You, also get the person called "Gail" not knowing who is working the next day in the practice and is unable to do anything else to help a patient. The best they can offer is for some one called "Sam" the receptionist manager who is left alone tonight on the desk and she has a queue to try to manage! to promise to get someone to contact me the next day, or referring myself back to the hospital to get the results, c/o julie williams. I would say well done but i'm yet to get to the the bottom to this saga
