I have COPD and found the staff at Higham Ferrers did not help or recognise my condition nor the symptoms you get with medication. Last appointment was with the nurse and she told me normally my symptoms are sexually transmitted!!! My husband died 3 years ago!!! And is not nice to hear wrong from Professionals!!!!. It’s because my inhaler has steroids. I’ve just moved doctors and what a breath of fresh air!! Got correct advice and getting the right amount of medication to sort problems.

Impossible to get an appointment. Went to A&E due to a heart problem I have developed due to the stress of my divorce, and I cannot get an appointment to see the doctors to discuss my future medical needs, or how to manage my current medical conditions alongside this. Phoning is a waste of time. The app is only open between 8am and 9am and when you raise a call they close it but don't give you a reason why. This surgery is an absolute disgrace.

Worst surgery I have ever come across in 62 years. I made the greatest mistake registering with this practice. In less than 6weeks of registration, I have not been able to resolve not one problem. Cannot get repeat prescription from medications I have been on for years and twice had to contact NHS 111 for emergency. I ended up paying £9.90 for 7 tablets. I got a medication review yesterday in place of a GP appointment. Guess what, I put in a prescription and this was declined again. I have 2 tablets left of the 7 and the pharmacy would not offer any more emergency. I need a GP review but cannot get any appointment. No choice but to move to another practice. Such appalling service. I am so worried that my anxiety is over the roof.

After the sudden death of my husband in May, I left a Holiday insurance claim form at the surgery in JUNE. I paid for a funeral instead of a holiday! It is now OCTOBER, nobody has given me a date for the form to be completed, nobody has told me the cost, I have visited the surgery, emailed, left letters for the practice manager. The only information I have gained is that they were short staffed in June! And there is a delay. This is a terrible way to treat someone who is trying to get on with life, it is causing me more upset.

From my experiences with three different surgeries in the area ,I honestly feel Higham surgery is worth at least 4 stars.
Friendly,efficient,great staff.
It takes a special person to work with the public constantly especially sick people.
My visits are fairly frequent due to my health and like wise also for somebody I care for.
Thankyou Higham surgery

I called with my ill daughter(4 years old) and never get appointment. That happened 3-4 times at the past 6 months. Same situation had my wife when called them. When over 2 years ago she went to "gp" at surgery lady asked her "do you know what can be wrong with you?".
Myself never get appointment also so I am going to urgent care Corby.
We are paying for the service and never get that!
Now I am booking private GP's for my family to get help.
If I am paying for the NHS I am expecting to get the proper service!
If you are looking the help better to do not loose time for this surgery.

Absolute disgrace they are not doctors it’s more a clinic where a nurse sees most of the people. It needs closing and reopening with a new set of doctors.
We need a doctors surgery here in Higham that can manage a good practice.
After getting number 1 on phone this morning to get offered an appointment at another doctors a bus ride away. There are lots of elderly people who just could not do that. So no doctors on or nurses today . So it might as well have been closed .
I have tried all week to get through on the lines .
Absolute disgrace

Today I received a text message in response to the new ANIMA system, which in itself is not fit for purpose in my opinion. The text told me that my request had been reviewed and I had been referred to Higham Ferrers Pharmacy. Clearly the request had not been read properly or any of my notes because they would have seen that I had attended Corby Urgent Care and been prescribed antibiotics. My husband had called 111 because on Sunday I have not improved infact had got worse. In the early hours of Monday he called 111 who then said a Dr. would call back which he did, over the phone and from what was said he concluded I needed a reassessment of my condition, his recommendation was to see a Dr. not as the text I received suggested that I see a Pharmacist, who cannot do much except sell over the counter medication. I resolved my own situation by going back to Corby Urgent Care where I was indeed seen by a Dr. and not a Nurse Practioner he prescribed stronger antibiotics and pain killer, he then said if it continues to see my GP. I would if it were possible and things were actually assessed and read by them but on the basis of the text and phone call I have just had it seems like the Admin Staff do it all and the person I just spoke to didn't really have any interest. I am sorry to say that this surgery has taken very much a turn for the worse, but I dare say patients of other surgeries are likely to feel similar about some of their experiences.
