Always super helpful. Their triage system is brilliant - you submit an online form and they call you back. I was able to get help within 2hrs of submission: Offered both a telephone or in person appointment. They are also always helpful and accommodating with appointment times. Added bonus of onsite parking and a very pretty location.

An absolute disgrace and a total failure of basic human decency. My wife, after giving birth to a premature baby, is being cast aside by this surgery, which seems more concerned with paperwork than patient care. Instead of offering support during this critical time, they’re more focused on deregistering her just because we’ve temporarily moved in with her parents. How can a medical practice abandon a vulnerable patient when she needs care the most? Telling us to just call 111 is not only heartless but shameful beyond words. This practice should be ashamed of how it treats people in crisis.

I came in for bloods, self check in didn't work which wasted a few minutes.
Then I waited in que for over 10 minutes as there was only two receptionists and both guys were busy with prolonged tasks... to be told I wouldn't be seen. Pretty disappointing, I entered at my appointment time, and the que held me back. I understand it disrupts the flow of patients but it was for a very quick blood test and the receptionists were well aware that the que was long and delayed matters.

Staff were nice and friendly otherwise but it`s a very robotic and unemphatic practice.

My experience of other surgeries in the group are excellent, though Heaton Moor surgery has one extremely condescending, rude receptionist.
Please point out to her that this is a job that requires general considerate communication skills to people that are in need of help, and is not a platform to exercise one’s own self important ego. After explaining that my recently bereaved father was lying there immobile and in great pain, I was told to fill out a new request form….All I requested was what the ambulance staff advised the day of the accident yesterday. In frustration I simply went to the pharmacy and obtained what I needed over the counter.
Surely it would be better to say such an option was available rather than just be told to fill out a new request online form that could take a day to process…. The added comment of ‘is he having a heart attack? ……….then it’s not an emergency is it’ she knew from my request that he wasn’t, and it was delivered in the rudest manner. Why would any be so up themselves to convey such a comment? Whoever you are, sort your attitude out or get another job!

No one follows up, reception treat you like dirt. Doctors cant be arsed.

One of the best GP surgeries I have ever come across. Patients can now choose from 7 different practices giving them more flexibility on appointment times. You can almost always guarantee a same day telephone / face to face appointment for urgent medical needs and can book an appointment for 2 days for a routine appointment. I have used HMMG a lot in the past few years and they have provided an excellent service.

Well the reviews speak for themselves why even operate when you clearly do no want to see patients ! Used to be a fantastic practice as I grew up seeing Dr Dawson senior then junior but sorry to say getting hold of a GP since Covid in this practice is a joke it would be easier meeting the King why be open when you do not want to meet anyone ! Furthermore never spoken to a more condescending rude highly derogatory human in my life at this reception called DAVID when you have zero compassion. What the hell are you doing working around patients !

Ian Stanyer kindly get rid of this employee he is a disgrace to your practice and rest assure I will be taking my complaint to your regulatory bodies when you have no care for patients you definitely do not deserve all the funding !!

Go work in a food packaging factory David where you do not need to interact with people because empathy is seriously not your strong point !

The professional deterioration in this practice over the last few years is very disturbing with the practice manager being regarded within NHS Manchester as out of his depth. Last year I fractured my spine which HMMG failed to spot with the result that I wasn't sent for an x-ray and I attempted to address the extreme pain with ibuprofen and paracetamol. The fracture was only detected when I had a CT Scan this year. Furthermore, there is no continuity in practitioner which undermines patient care and the convoluted processes now in place to even gain a face to face appointment with whichever random doctor is available leads to a much poorer patient outcome. I have left this practice and would advise others to do likewise for their own good.
