I don't understand how this surgery is still allowed to treat people they need closing ASAP absolutely disgusting doctors how they treat their patients. 2 weeks ago I rung up saying I needed antibiotics because I had a chest infection and they sent me to the pharmacy knowing full well they couldn't help. For the pharmacist to send it back to the doctors. I got a phone call off the out of hours team and they gave me antibiotics without checking me over. That night I was rushed into hospital with a really bad infection and I couldn't breath to be told the doctors gave me the wrong antibiotics. Also I have been trying to get some pain medication for the past 3 weeks asking them to put them on repeat but they are just not getting it. I can't say it any simpler for them to understand all I keep getting is you need to make an appointment but we don't have any well if that's the case they just need to issue me the painkillers because I know what's wrong with me and I know what works for me.

I have no problems with the care I've received, at all. Everything I've asked for I've been helped with, their menopause care in particular is excellent, but these services are behind a wall of technology that just doesn't work very well. Twice now I've ordered prescriptions on their website and nothing has happened leaving me without, if this option is obsolete the surgery needs to remove it from the website, but when I've complained I've received no response. They request that you use the PATCHs system to contact them, it is accessed via the NHS app on your phone and prescriptions can be ordered using the app, too, but the PATCHS UI is very confusing, so I've no idea how someone older or someone who struggles with online forms or apps is supposed to cope, I guess the answer is they don't. But if you do contact them via NHS app they are responsive and attend to your queries immediately. They were also amazing when my father got covid, we had an anti biotics prescription in our hands within the hour. But if you call them, you will wait a long time in a queue to speak to a human. I also find that I have a long wait to find an available appointment for blood tests, or to see a gp in person. They sometimes communicate by text message and send via text, time limited appointments which expire and it’s annoying to have to go through the process again.

If I could give 0 stars I would! Totally incompetent at dealing with basic requirements like repeat prescriptions. Ordered mine and over 2 weeks before my meds came. Repeatedly contacted the surgery to find out why there was a delay. And they don't know! Was due a yearly review in May tried to book one via a link and there isn't any till August!! Ridiculous

Recently moved to Health Care First and what a mistake!

I tried booking an appointment online and didn't have the option to book, tried through NHS app and was unable, 40 minute queue time on the phone to speak with someone to be told there are no appointments and they cannot help with website.

I had to drive to Ferrybridge surgery and queue for 20 minutes with other complaining patients and still no appointments.

Will be making a complaint to the practice manager and NHS.

This is completely unacceptable to the people of Ferrybridge and surrounding areas.

WEALTH CARE FIRST Yvette Cooper needs to be made aware what's happening with her constituents healthcare. Complete disconnect between patient and GP (if there are any who work here). Run by call handlers trained to divert patients to 111, out of hours services, pharmacies and urgent treatment centres.
My list of Health Care First's failings is far too extensive and over a sustained period to list here. Moving surgeries after 30 years, most of which was fantastic healthcare, no longer under this business model I'm afraid. And that's exactly what it is - a business, about to implode in my opinion.

Absolute disgrace since changing to health care first. Ridiculous wait times on the phone for any enquiry, not just making an appointment. Don’t bother trying to get a repeat prescription by phoning either. You need to go on line… no wait, call into the surgery, no actually it is on repeat the chemist should have it. Go to the chemist… no it’s not on repeat we can’t help you, go back to the surgery & reorder. Rinse & repeat

I’ve moved to Northgate, far better service and surgery. My 92 year old Nan told me yesterday after her phoning 4 times to get a house visit with her covid vaccination boosters you said don’t worry we wont run out someone will come soon. Now to be told, oh yes we aren’t getting any more now, tough. When she has carers visiting 4 times a day and more high risk with her leukaemia and heart. Shame on you, you are failing peoples wellbeing and healthcare on every level. More like Healthcarelast!

Absolute waste of time , cannot get an appointment, in a cue on the phone for ages , finally speak to someone only to be told you’ll get a phone call back after a review and then no phone call just a message saying phone again another day as no appointments available . Can anyone tell me why this surgery is even called a doctors surgery it might as well not be there wasting our tax payers money,
