So after a range of blood tests, PSA, cholesterol, diabetes etc I get the results that all are borderline and need to speak to a doctor. So I wait a week and I am not contacted. So I go online and ask to do just as it said’ speak to a doctor’.
A bit of a side issue but why does the online booking system not work outside working hours or at the weekend? Surely that’s the whole point of it!
Anyway a week or so later the reception/back office team call me to say that I will get a phone appointment in 3-5 weeks and the issue was with my cholesterol and everything else was ok, but they would probably discuss going on to statins.
the phone call a point was actually planned for about two weeks time. When I got the call it was difficult to hear the doctor and he had done zero preparation and was confused as to what the issues were. He eventually mentioned cholesterol but decided there wasn’t a problem. I will get another batch of tests done in. 6 months to see if there is any change. In essence I could have got a better idea of any issue using Google.

Rang for a same day appointment for husband - within an hour we had confirmation of one available in the afternoon for which we were grateful.
A prescription was processed to be sent electronically and we were advised to pick up an x-ray form from reception which we did. Decided to go then for the x-ray. 1and 3/4 hours later we left with no x-ray being taken as the form was incomplete. The radiographer was apologetic and tried her best to rectify the problem by contacting the surgery a number of times - to no avail as they didn't answer!! We went back to the surgery, receptionist could see the problem and said she could re-do it - as the X-Ray Department had already told him they would sort it we left it at that. Husband then went to pick up prescription only to find the Pharmacy hadn't received it. Back to the surgery to be told the Doctor had only part completed it and it had not been sent. Urgent request was sent to Doctor and we finally picked up the prescription at 19.30!!!
X-Ray Department have been brilliant and they have booked an appointment for him having received the correctly filled in form.
The afternoon was a total waste of time with someone who is highly vulnerable and has mobility issues spending a longer time in hospital when it wasn't necessary.

Poor contact. Long delays and waits at all times. Waited 8 weeks for an appointment, only to be sent off to Nimbus Care in Acomb. Now needing a repeat appointment as the treatment didn't work and facing another 5 week wait.

Hmmm. I added a one star review a few days ago which seems to have disappeared, but it was definitely there on the 22nd June ? Is someone is removing negative comments?

Having autism means I have great difficulty reaching out for the support or help I need, yet these guys make it easier, way easier. Never had an issue from initial phone call to appointment always satisfied.

Rubbish organisation at the vaccination clinic on Saturday. 45 min wait for a 10 minute slot appointment all because they let all the walkins come in when it was supposed to be pre booked slots. No apologies, from staff for the wait. No organisation into getting more people queuing in out of the rain. Because of this ridiculous decision to let the walkins, with no one separating out the people who followed procedure and booked from those that didn’t. What was the point of booking! It caused horrendous traffic problems on the road outside. What’s happening to the Haxby practice it’s getting worse and worse

I rang the surgery on behalf of my elderly mother who was extremely low on some diabetic medication. They sent the prescription straight down to Huntington pharmacy. I also asked if they could add it to her on line list of repeat medications
which they also did.
? Well done- I was most impressed and very grateful for everything they did as were my elderly parents.
