We were fortunate to discover Haven Hall after an underwhelming stay elsewhere on the Isle of Wight during the music festival—and what a difference it made. From the moment we arrived, it felt less like checking into a hotel and more like being welcomed into the private coastal estate of a very dear (and wealthy) friend.

Located on the edge of a cliff overlooking the sea, Haven Hall is more akin to a Newport, Rhode Island (USA) mansion than a traditional hotel. The décor, the gardens, the setting—all evoke timeless elegance with abundant English charm.

What truly sets Haven Hall apart, though, is the unmatched hospitality. Owners David and Arielle are gracious and warm, making you feel instantly at home.

The surrounding village is walkable and enchanting, adding to the dreamlike quality of our stay.

Haven Hall is worth every pound (or penny) we paid, and then some. We will cherish this experience as one of our most memorable stays anywhere.

We flew into the tiny Sandown airport on the Isle of Wight and spent a totally relaxed and stress free long birthday weekend for my wife’s birthday at the beginning of May staying with the charming and attentive David and Arielle at their boutique Haven Hall hotel just outside Shanklin. The beautiful decor and wonderful views complimented the wonderfully spacious rooms. We took full advantage of the hotel’s situation on the coastal pathway and that it is ideally situated for sightseeing the many areas of interest all around the Island. Breakfast on the terrace in May was perhaps a bonus this year but the views from the extensive grounds were consistently breathtaking. Although no evening meals were available David was particularly helpful with his guidance about dining and as a result we had some superb meals. A return visit is a certainty!

Thank you to David and Arielle and the staff for a wonderful long weekend at the Haven Hall Hotel. It was just perfect. We stayed in the John Keats room which was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The grounds were stunning. We were on the island for our wedding and had the hotel as our base. It was such a welcoming atmosphere, very relaxed and the everybody at the hotel was super helpful. The continental breakfast was exceptional, with homemade treats every morning. It was a very special weekend for us and was made even more perfect by staying in this beautiful hotel.

This boutique hotel is certainly one on it's own on the Isle-of-Wight. The grounds are amazing and the whole ambiance of the place is fabulous.The views over the bay are incredible.We had the Charles Darwin room which was adequate, but the hot water system for the bath needs updating .The only minus is the breakfast which is a continental it is plentful but no cooked eggs or pancakes which my wife and I missed.|The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble.|I would have no problem in recommending this hotel to anyone but when the sun shines it is even better

An oasis of tranquility in a lovely location with stunning views. The hotel and gardens are beautifully tended, and give the feeling that one is staying in a private house. Amenities, including outdoor pool and grass tennis court, were well-maintained and much enjoyed by our children. David was very kind in recommending what we should do.

Had the perfect 2 nights at Haven Hall. Stayed in the garden suite. Everything was super tidy. Best location to explore island and be close to the ferry . Magical property and the views are stunning! David the owner was the best host, got wonderful tips from him and pleasant chats at breakfast .
