Based on our recent experience, I would certainly not recommend Willingdon Park Manor care home. This relatively new care home certainly looks the part, however my mother-in-laws respite care was shocking. Daily care was intermittent at best with a lack of proactive support, expecting a 97 year old to have to constantly ask for help with getting up, showering, basic hygiene and general personal care requirements.
There was also confusion over her medication which required constant intervention from our family to ensure my mother-in-law was kept safe. We therefore had to move her to another care home where the standard of care is fantastic in every respect, with staff standards meticulously high and a real sense of conscientiousness throughout. It has further highlighted just how woefully poor the care delivery was at Willingdon Park Manor.

Our family’s experience of respite care at Willingdon Park Manor was not a positive one. My 97-year-old mother-in-law came for respite care to recuperate from an extended spell in hospital. We were hoping for fantastic care and luxury R&R to build up her strength whilst we worked out what was best for her. Unfortunately, the standard of care fell well below our expectations: she was left for long periods and had to call for assistance with getting up, washed, dressed etc. Sometimes she was not dressed until 11:45am and as a result nearly missed meals. There were issues with medication following a further A&E and GP visit, and ultimately the family lost trust in the home’s ability to keep my mother in law safe and well cared for. She is now in a different home and receiving fantastic care, her physical health and wellbeing is significantly improved. The contrast between the two care homes could not be more marked.

It has a friendly welcoming environment while providing a high standard of care. The interior design is stunning and complemented with up to date technology throughout. The beautiful tree lined gardens are maintained regularly and there is on site car parking available. Residents are presented with an appetising menu choice each day. The staff are always on hand to offer a friendly smile and any assistance. They really do care about the Residents' happiness, safety and well being. It feels more like a family home and there are plenty of fun activities to choose from. Willingdon Park Manor is a huge asset to Eastbourne and I feel proud to be part of the community there.

This new luxury care home is quite superb. An absolutely beautiful building and facilities to match, as well as brilliant staff who run the place immaculately. I've had several visits there and each time have come away impressed, and residents I have spoken to all seem to have settled in really well and speak so highly of the place. A beautiful addition to quality care in Eastbourne.
