I have been with this GP practice for several years, and I have always been impressed with the professionalism of the doctors, who have provided excellent care for my entire family. However, my recent experience with one particular receptionist has left me feeling deeply concerned.

On Friday, my two young children were suffering from fever and persistent coughing from Wednesday. I contacted the practice hoping to get some advice and reassurance before weekend Unfortunately, the receptionist I spoke to was dismissive and told me that it wasn’t an emergency

I called the practice again on Monday in urgent need of help after a challenging night and weekend One son had suffered a febrile convulsion, and my other son was dealing with severe nosebleed.Both situations were frightening, and I hoped the doctors could provide some reassurance. Unfortunately, the same receptionist answered refusing me to see a doctor, she seemed completely unqualified to handle the situation. She dismissed my concerns, telling me that it wasn’t an emergency and questioning if I had given paracetamol for the convulsion. As a parent of a 4-year-old experiencing convulsions, her response was alarming and completely inappropriate.
Furthermore, she insisted that my children’s persistent cough and fever would resolve in six weeks, despite the fact they were coughing so badly that they were vomiting. She refused to schedule an appointment with a doctor, and I needed to go to A&E . This was not only unhelpful but left me feeling unsupported during a stressful time.
While I continue to be grateful for the high level of care the doctors have provided in the past, this interaction with the receptionist was incredibly frustrating and upsetting. I hope this feedback helps the practice reconsider how urgent situations are handled by their front-line staff. Parents in distress deserve to be listened to and taken seriously, especially when the health of their children is at stake.

I have been a patient at this GP surgery for several years now, and I cannot speak highly enough about the level of care and professionalism provided by the entire team. From the friendly receptionists who always answer the phone in a friendly manner to the knowledgeable and compassionate doctors who take the time to listen and address all of my concerns, every aspect of my experience has been excellent.

Receptionist really do their best to make things difficult. Rude and no help explaining the processes of receiving prescriptions ect…

It's impossible to book appointments. When I call at 8, they say it's for emergency visits in the event of a heart attack, which is ridiculous because if I was having a heart attack, I would call an ambulance. When I call at 11, there are no more appointments, and this happens for 5 days in a row. Besides, doctors send you away with nothing. for two years of headaches and vertigo, the only thing I learned was that there could be many causes, but no one told me what they were, they didn't even do something as simple as a blood test for me.

Cancelled prescription without notice, could've led to kidney failure - on hold for 30 mins 3 times, 2 of which they answered and instantly put the phone down - Very unhelpful pharmacy assistant who told me "maybe" we can issue life saving emergency prescription. The receptionists and nurses are lovely, but my experience so far has been tainted by these other experiences..

Wouldn’t even given one star places like this need to be checked for competency the lack of knowledge one of the doctors I seen today was scary and couldn’t get hold of records from previous doctors surly that’s why we fill in the forms so you can get all our medical history ? Lies upon lies sent home still suffering (duty of care 0) lack of compassion and only cares how it suits them for next appointments work in with there patients schedules and what best suits them ? I was better off researching my symptoms on Google if only I could prescribe myself the medicine I actually do need !!!

I don't think the receptionists deserve the shouting, personal insults and name calling whilst trying to thier jobs. When I have had dealings with them they have been more than helpful. Sometimes, things are out of thier hands so you may not get the result that you want. It does not give you the right to shout and swear at them. I have been in twice in 2 weeks and both times I have witnessed this happening. Absolutely appalling.

I joined the practice 2 years ago and my doctor was brilliant. He has since left the practice and I have been speaking to another GP who is as equally as attentive to my needs. I've only ever had a positive experience from start to finish. A shout out for the receptionist and nurses too. Thankyou Grange Road. Thank you.
