I’ve recently joined this practice and I can honestly say I’ve had such a great experience.

The young receptionist was so lovely and helpful, and worked really quickly to ensure all actions from our appointment were taken. The doctor we saw was also lovely and really took the time with us (something I know doctors don’t have a lot of!).

The practice is really clean and well kept, and the staff so friendly. I really cannot understand the bad reviews at all, and would absolutely recommend.

Cannot recommend.

Don’t get me wrong, the GPs are fantastic, and care when it has been provided is amazing.

However, the booking processes are impossible to navigate. I have variously:
- rang at 8am to be told to submit a request online because it’s not urgent
- submitted a non-urgent request online to be told to ring at 8am
- been told to ring back at 12pm, and when I did, been told that they never have appointments available at 12pm and I should know it’s only 8am
- rang at 8am only to be told that my call had been routed to another surgery and they couldn’t access my surgery’s appointment book

Throughout all of this, the tone from the receptions has been exceptionally condescending, as if they’re explaining things that I should already know. If I knew the rules for booking an appointment, I would follow them without complaint

Trying to get an appointment here is ridiculous. Even getting through to speak to someone on the phone takes over half an hour generally. Then they tell you that there is no appointments available. I’d you can’t ring at 8am or midday you don’t have a chance. The staff are also rude on the phone because they just get so much stick for the crap service. It needs some serious make over

Honestly this is the worst GP surgery I’ve been to.
I’ve called everyday at 8am, on the dot and everyday I get told the queue is full and I need to call back later on even though they tell you to call at 8am and don’t accept calls after that. When I first joined had no issues with getting an appointment. So when I go in person to visit they are empty every time. Waiting room is empty and then when I ask to book an appointment when I visit and explain I can’t get get through to them on call they say they are fully booked and cannot give me an appointment.

Then when I tried to get more contraception, they told me I had to see the nurse for a review before I can get anymore. Then every time I try to get an appointment with the nurse they say the nurse is fully booked. So that means I can’t get the contraceptive pill or I have to get emergency contraception which then only covers 3 weeks and I have to go back to ask again. When I did this previously they then told me they weren’t allowed to give me any contraception at all even emergency until I see the nurse who was again fully booked.

I just went in today after I had a surgery done and I was told by the hospital I had to book an appointment to come back in a week for a doctor to check my stitches. The woman at the desk told me that she’d see if a doctor was available to take a look at them. I was a bit baffled considering checking stitches is important especially in case they are infected, I’m not allowed to remove my band aid at all so it’s not like I can check I’m only allowed to remove it once a doctor tells me it’s okay when they are to check it.

It’s just getting to the point where I’m going to start looking elsewhere but most gp surgeries are like this. It’s not a good look however when every time I come into the surgery, the place is empty and they say it’s fully booked. Not a single person in the waiting room and when I’m there speaking to someone for over 15 mins, by then you would see someone come out of doctors rooms since appointments also only allow 10-15 mins which is ridiculous when the surgery is empty and I’m being rushed out the door instead of a doctor listening to what I’m trying to tell them. It’s unacceptable.

They simply do not care! I have been trying to get an appointment for over a week. On Weds 24th July 2024 I was told to call 111 by the snotty receptionist, which I did. They assessed me over the phone and said they would message the surgery advising them to book me an appointment. It is now Friday 26th July and I have heard nothing from Glenlea. 9 days of trying to get an appointment and still suffering badly. Truly awful service at this surgery! Whoever manages it needs to make some changes.

On 3 occasions this year I’ve had to book in with bupa to support my health because Glenlea cannot offer me an appointment under 2 weeks. There is the opportunity to call at 8am and 12pm each day for an ‘emergency’ appointment but every time I have been unable to get one. I would highly recommend against registering with this gp if you’re looking for a quick turnaround for your health.

Since we moved to Glenlea when Sunfield closed, we have been very happy with the service. I find the receptionists go out of their way to help and the doctors are very thorough with their investigations.

Yet again I'm so disappointed with this GP surgery! Couldn't get through on the phone (which I started calling at 8am) ended up going into the surgery at 3pm to be greeted with a rottweiler that had swolled the working handbook! I was in that much pain I was fighting the tears back and she still continued to give me all her rubbish talk saying all appts are gone, no telephone appts and no pre bookables! What a load of rubbish honestly. I told her I would have to go to A&E and she rudely mouthed back well if you need to then go!!!!!!! At that point I walked away before she got the wrath of what a person in constant pain can give. I phoned 111 to be told i needed to go straight to A&E as i needed to be seen by a doctor asap due to my symptoms.
Really has gone downhill
