As a Patient of River Lodge Surgery (now part of "Foundry" Health care) for over two decades I have had all manner of experiences with the Surgery, most of them very good. I have just had a blood test with the Surgery. I arrived about 10 minutes early and found the Nurse not just running on time, but slightly ahead of time, so I got in earlier than expected. The Nurse was lovely, friendly, chatty and put me at ease. The blood test itself went easily enough and I didn't feel a thing. On this occasion it was a faultless Appointment, so five stars.

I recently had an appointment with Emma Buck ( hope I got the name right ) A truly amazing Doctor who put me at ease straight away. I have seen her before and she has this amazing calming effect, better than tablets sometimes. A true Florence Nightingale of 2024. Kindest Regards Gordon.

For my sins I’m stuck on massive amounts of medication. This has to be repeated by a monthly prescription which is sent directly to St.Annes pharmacy. For some reason unknown, when we first started, possibly due to sheer quantities there always seamed to be something missing, something wrong in one way or another. However, once the problem was acknowledged it has always been resolved quickly and without a fuss. The point being. We are all human. Mistakes get made. It’s a question of how we deal with those mistakes when they arise. Any medical practice must be under enormous pressure in the current climate. Expected by our exulted so called government to perform miracles with little support and consistent underfunding. The staff at Foundry go out of their way to be helpful and kind. They do a great job in difficult circumstances. I would recommend them highly.

Tried couple of attempts to discover what this appt was for. Neither FH reception, nor to be fair, GP I contacted were clear.
Given couple of different reasons for appt. Both guesses.
I need 3 mthly blood test - thought for this. Wasn't.
Surely surgery knows why it has called a person for an appt - info is clearly somewhere.
Great helpful nurse sorted it all out.

I felt embarrassed and very tearful and depressed due to practitioner hinting very heavily that my issue was because I was overweight. He said keeping fit is key, I explained that I have limited mobility due to being in constant pain, I know losing weight is important this and have asked for help to deal with this but haven’t had any support. It’s a vicious circle and I am so depressed.
