A Heartfelt Thank You

Yesterday, I was at the hospital with my daughter Hera visiting my grandma — her great-grandma, lovingly known to us as "Granny." During that time, Sabrina and Kat from the lovely home where my grandma had been living came to visit her. They did this entirely on their own time, simply out of kindness and compassion.

Their visit meant the world to us. They brought real comfort to my grandma in her final hours — just by being there, speaking to her gently, and showing her the warmth and care she was so used to from them. It was incredibly touching and something I will never forget.

Thank you, Sabrina and Kat, for going above and beyond. Your genuine care and presence made such a difference to our family.

I cannot express enough how amazing and wonderful the staff at Florence Shipley are! They have not only become family to my nan from start to finish but to us all as well!
The love and support they have given is second to none. They have given my nan a lease of life for the last year and a half when we all felt defeated!
They have danced, played, laughed and cried with her but most of all made her feel safe and loved!
This is a wonderful care home and sadly unbelievable to hear it's in question of shutting!
Every single member of staff are angels sent from above and as a family we are forever grateful. In Nan's dying days the compassion you showed to us all was inspirational, and over whelming! I will not only miss my nan incredibly but I will miss everyone of you as well and I hope to stay in touch with you incredible people!
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!
And I urge the council to keep Florence Shipley open! This is the last generation of war hero's we have and they deserve the best! This can only be delivered by Florence Shipley!

So far so good.

I was very impressed with the cleanliness, spaciousness and moderness of this home. Its comfortable and seems like a home away from home. Staff polite and friendly.

I had some doubts due to the ratings I came across on Google, but having visited and seeing how happy my friend is, I'm reassured.

Use Market Place and look out for the hidden entrance 😁

The cafe is a lovely relaxing area.. had a bacon cob it was really nice.. staff are very welcoming.. definitely going back xx
