Great GP, I have always managed to get my children seen to the same day and quite quickly too. They were also fantastic throughout the pandemic in seeing my son when he was young. The doctors are all lovely and take time to listen. I don't ever feel "rushed in and out". I'm grateful to have a GP surgery like this especially after some of the stories I hear about people struggling to get through to their GP practices. Thank you and keep up the amazing work, it's very much appreciated ?

Never had a problem with getting a GP appointment for either myself or my children. Today my son was seen by a HCA lovely lady called Julie who was great with him and made him feel so comfortable.

As always excellent care at this surgery , called at 8am waited 5 mins as I was no 12 in que . When I got though receptionist was on the ball , when I asked if they had any appointments for today with a particular Doctor , she offered me a morning appointment , when I asked if I could have a afternoon appointment , it wasn’t a problem and she found me one at 2.30 which I accepted. Don’t know any other surgery who gives such good service as this one - definitely 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Easy to get appointments, I have seen great midwives, a doctor and a health care practitioner. Very pleased with the service from the professionals however the only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because there are two receptionists (the one in particular) who are rude, every single time I have been. They lack basic customer service skills, a smile, hello and thank you. The one also messed up my appointment today. I got the blame for it ‘you wouldn’t have been booked in today because the health care practitioner is on holiday’ - indicating I got the wrong date. I went back in to prove I had it in my notes on my phone and then it was finally admitted she made a mistake and did say sorry which is totally accepted but what I don’t like is the attitude like it could never of been their fault in the first place. Attitude stinks! Maybe time for a re-fresh, it would be nice to see friendly faces 🙂

I rang surgery today to ask about Covid Booster for my husband, whose 6 months of last vaccine is today,

There were no slots available the vaccine and I have been asked to ring back next week. This is not a problem.

I did not realize that patients had to ring the surgery to book an appt. I thought we maybe contacted with a date and time, or given a number to ring to book an appt.

Would it not be possible as some surgeries do, and that is for tge surgery to text patients with this type information.

The comments below are purely my own personal experiences & everyone should use there own judgement in posting a review & not be influenced by others (perceived) experiences.

When this Brand New Health Centre opened many years ago it had a very 'up beat' & welcoming atmosphere.

Sadly this has eroded over the years & there now appears to be a 'workaday' atmosphere pervading the place.

And this has not only happened in the last 18 months during the Covid Crisis.

Patients are Customers as they are in any other business interaction.

The fact that the Customers are Patients of the NHS, should not mean that they are treated with any less value than a Customer in a Top Departmental Store.

Maybe the Staff are overworked?
I cannot comment!

The present policy regarding 'Face to Face' Doctor Consultations is particular issue with me.

I prefer 'Face to Face' Doctor Consultations.

And according to a communication I've recently had with a Government Representative, 'Face to Face' Consultations should always be offered to Patients as an alternative to a 'Preliminary Phone Call' - during point of contact at Reception.

I appreciate that some Patients (Customers) may prefer a 'Preliminary Phone Call' from a Doctor before a 'Face to Face' Consultation.

And in many cases a 'Preliminary Phone Call' may negate the need for a follow up 'Face to Face' Consultation with the Doctor.

That is purely Patient choice & I respect that.

And that is perfectly fine as long as both 'Face to Face' Consultation and/or 'Preliminary Phone Call' are offered at the same time by Reception during the Initial Point of Contact.

Please Note: the above comments are intended as constructive comment in an attempt to improve the Patient/Practice experience.
They are NOT intended as opportunity by myself to besmirch the professional integrity of the employees of a very necessary & valued Service that Featherstone Health Centre provides to the Local Community.

I sincerely hope the comments above will be view in a positive manner & will be regarded as useful to both Patients & Health Service Professionals.

On a Positive Note.
The NHS performed brilliantly during the last 18 months of Covid.

And Boris Johnson & his Governments performance was exemplary.

There's no doubt about it.
The Tory Government led the World on how to tackle Covid-19 & they represented a Beacon of 'Best Practice' compared to the Shambles & Disgracefully Poor Performance of The EU.

Top marks to Boris!
