Lines open at 08:30 so called at 08:30:06. Lines are full. By 08:46 they are full for today. Only calling because the previous medication has made our son worse. At least I won’t have to listen to the attitude given by the receptionists over the phone. If your job is such an inconvenience I am sure there are plenty of other people desperate for work.

I have had so many unfortunate encounters with the surgery that I have completely lost my faith in it and absolutely dread having to contact them again. Most of the time they don’t take me on, often putting everything I say down to anxiety or being stressed and tired. I’ve been told not once that I am imagining symptoms, ongoing tummy pain was put down to IBS because of stress, till I went private and discovered otherwise. They tested my bloods a million times but didn’t think of sending me for an ultrasound to make sure nothing is wrong, even if I asked many times , till after I’ve been private.
The problem is that they believe themselves all-knowing and they dismiss you instead of referring you to the right people. Paracetamol and antidepressants are getting chucked at you because it’s easier for them rather than trying to treat you. As for the kids, my worries and thoughts have been dismissed more than once plus my boy was terrified of doctors for a couple of years due to an inpatient and rude nurse. And a doctor mistook him for some other patient and made up a whole case that was sent to a paediatrician in Aberdeen. That followed a complaint from my side which I got a call about from the alleged doctor, telling me that she is sure I told her those things about my son. In fact, I’ve seen this GP once for 5 minutes, when she misdiagnosed my boy with a viral sore throat, when he, in fact, had step A.
They take calls from 8.30 but you can never get through at that time and, more often than not, by 10 they are fully booked for the day. You are not given the choice to speak to a specific doctor unless that doctor has been dealing with your ongoing problems, you just need to win the lottery. So if you don’t like the way you are treated by a GP , you need to suck it up.
The only doctor I’ve seen here that actually listens and cares is Dr Ewen. She is amazing, she diserves 5 ✨.

Waste of time. Called for 2 hours and unable to get through from 8:30-10:30. No queue, just disconnected every time. I understand why you must phone instead of the old booking online system, due to the fact they wish to triage you but if you are lucky enough to get through, why can you then not book an appointment for the following day, or later! The service provided is substandard. Why should I pay taxes, just so that the lucky minority can get an appointment, or even just have someone answer the phone. I really don’t care about those who say “well I’ve always had a good experience with Ellon Health Centre”, it’s completely irrelevant, it doesn’t make it a good service and it doesn’t justify that bad service provided. Yes you as a minority were lucky enough to get seen to, but the overwhelming majority are having a negative experience and paying for a service they never get to use. If the NHS can’t do better, then you should be able to opt out of paying for it and better spend that money going towards private health care.

My kid had a tick in the back of the ear, i tried to remove it and bits was left in so i felt scared and i went straight without calling. 5 mins in the window without anybody looking at me and nobody in the queue, when the lady managed to assist me. She told me very disappointed that i had to call before popping in, and she was right tbh, i just felt scared i went without thinking. Then somebody came and the lady put me away. I managed to ask the lady for a phone number and she gave me the number lookong very overwhelmed.
I called and i spoke with a ladie who was seating inside 2.5 m far from me, she passed the call to another lady who was 3 m far from me who gave me an appointment with the nurse one hour later.... Not saying i was right ar all doing what i did but very dehumanised treatment. I do not think people go there for fun.

Receptionist thinks shes a dr and decides who gets health care and who doesn’t..she should be fired! She should be ashamed of herself. Who is she to play dr with no medical training!!! Refusing dr appointments to elderly because she deemed them fit enough to dress them selves as they have for years.. and i quote “If your well enough to put on a shirt and tie and get yourself down to the gp then you don’t need a dr appointment” truly shocking! He was diagnoses with liver cancer after 4 month trying to get an appointment because the receptionist thought he didn't need to see a dr.

I hope you see this.

Very poor service, rude and lazy receptionist who are thinking that they are better than Doctors!!!!
They didn't aloud my dad to see his Doctor (he has heart failure) and we ended up in hospital!!!! There is a loads to write about receptionist!!! Still waiting for manager to reply about all this situation.
If you want to sort your stuff the way how it should be please start record phone calls, and let them know that you are doing that!!! What a great service you will get and appointment with doctor as well.

If I could I would rate this practice 0!!! Maybe they will change something but I can't see this. I'm thinking that papers will be happy to hear all story's about this place.

P.S. I'm sure some of the Doctors are not aware what very nice ladies on the reception are doing . How they are treating others and not aloud people to see Doctors.

I don't think I need to share my health problems with the receptionist but they simply don't let you get a call back from the gp unless you do so. Worst is the only way to get through is to phone at half 8 in the morning. Then you need to be in queue for about 20 min if you're lucky. Then you need to have your phone on your all day to make sure you don't miss the call back from the gp. Then you have to be lucky to be seen. The problem is with this system that you have to take the day off work and often another day for when you get your actual app. Low of people can't effort that.
And don't get me started on getting an app for the kids who have to have their phone on in class to get a call back from the gp!! Insane

Nothing much has changed since i last did this review. This morning i started phoning at half 8 as I was told to do, as that's the only way to get an appointment! But never got through as the lines were too busy and the automatic calling system hangs up on you to be told to phone later. When you phone later you get told it's not the time to make appointments, as it's half 8 in the morning. It's so crazy! I can't understand how everyone puts up with a NHS service while most of us are paying crazy amount of tax.... Sad times for the NHS! July24

Phoned up recently just to be greeted by the most egotistical, power hungry gatekeeper of a receptionists. Absolutely vile how they treat folk. They're not doctors and they should pretending to be.
