Very rude receptionist . Took a collapsed man in and said it would be four hours before he could even be assessed. I am a bit deaf and asked her to say it again, she shouted was there something wrong with me? No notice taken of the man and he was barely conscious.

Dogs would be treated better.

Iā€™ve been to the East Riding Community Hospital many times over recent years, using Outpatients, Physio, Audiologist and Clinic and the Urgent Treatment Centre.
Parking is free but the front carpark has a very narrow entrance and thereā€™s something weird about the parking bays, not helped by the camber.
I usually avoid this carpark in favour of the overflow carpark further onto the site.
It takes about 25 mins to walk from the Bus Station; the hospital is also on the 41 bus route to Hull-I think the service is hourly.
Thereā€™s generally a very quiet atmosphere around the hospital; with the exception of the Urgent Treatment Centre which is always packed, other areas have very few people waiting.
Staff are lovely, kind and professional.
If you are attending the UTC expect a long wait-weā€™ve often been there for 4+ hours.
There are plenty of toilets and water is available. There are also vending machines for hot drinks and snacks such as crisps and chocolate ; payment by card is preferred.

Made an official complaint about the receptionist and nurse, totally rude and ill mannered. When using this service you expect to be treated with kindness and respect. Please complain so we could get a minor injuries hospital which is fit for purpose and give patients empathy, manners and respect. One would expect a manager or deputy manager to be present at 9 am in the morning. A total overhaul of the hospital is needed. No alcohol sanitizer at the entrance of the hospital. Place looked grubby and filthy. As for the staff how do they get these jobs and treat patients in a disgusting manner zEro stars. I have made a formal complaint.

Was asked by 111 to attend an appointment they had booked me, due to me taking some new medication. Iā€™d called 111 asking for advice regarding Lansoprazole Iā€™d been proscribed by the doctor Iā€™d previously seen in hospital. Doctor suspected the beginning of a stomach ulcer and asked me to eat clean from now on to not aggravate it. I started my medication last week everything was fine. I started to get joint pain in my knees which was very odd at 9.00 am , I rested my legs and was hoping it would pass. After a while it started getting worse. I didnā€™t take any pain relief because I can cope with the pain, but after checking out the systems on my medication, joint pain was on there in the serious symptoms and feeling tired, Hence me calling for advice. So I went to my appointment as requested by 111 booked in at Beverly hospital out of hours, only to be spoken to to so rudely by a nurse that resembled Chucky. Her first words where if youā€™re in so much pain why are you not taking any painkillers for this so called pain? Iā€™m sat there thinking is this woman serious ? I responded I donā€™t always take pain medication for every single pain and I have a high tolerance for pain. But I also donā€™t take pain relief for every single pain as itā€™s not healthy to unless necessary and I donā€™t want to build a tolerance. The nurse responded thatā€™s not true and sheā€™s here to educate me lol. Then I looked at her and told her firmly I do not take pain relief if itā€™s not necessary and it my pass by itself. Iā€™m here Because Iā€™d like advice on if to carry on with my meditation or not. But I wasnā€™t getting that advice , I really needed to speak to a doctor .
I was using a hot water bottle that actually helps soothe the pain in my joints.
She then said randomly I donā€™t have an ulcer just acid reflux lol which the doctor said itā€™s more than acidic reflux and itā€™s the beginning of an ulcer. Which I never went to her for any advice regarding my stomach, just regarding my medication and my knee pain. Then she asked to look at my knees in a very odd manner, i was highly uncomfortable since she was being rude and odd. Then she said if your having side affects from your tablets to speak to a doctor or stop taking them,
And that joint pain happens all over the body not in isolated areas. She basically didnā€™t have a clue!!! And was treating me as if I was stupid and didnā€™t want me there!

Next day spoke to a doctor which said stop taking your medication immediately. As a joint pain can start in an area but travel to other areas eventually. In which it actually was..
I felt completely humiliated when that poor excuse of a nurse asked me to take my trousers off and did not believe me about my pain she didnā€™t even ask any other questions regarding the actual symptoms i had gone in with, she just wanted to know why I have not been taking pain relief? horrible horrible woman. She should not be allowed to practice, and she strongly resembled a bully. I donā€™t have a picture of her, so I did a drawing. So everyone knows who this person is.
