My husband has been at East Dean Grange Care Home for almost a year. Initially, he was very confused and unsettled. I was extremely worried about him, which impacted my own health. However, recently, there had been a sudden change in management. I began to feel that this change would unsettle my husband again. My concerns instantly alleviate when introduced to the new manager. Her calm, sensitive, and professional approach put me instantly at ease. Due to a resent, CQC inspection changes of improvement were quickly put into place. The now new open office door policy encourages collaboration, transparency, and respect for all staff. I personally feel that the atmosphere of the home is a clean, comfortable, safe, reassuring environment for all of the residents. I have see changes in the care staff too. Their ongoing training and new uniform has given them a boost in confidence; developing professional behaviours, creating a positive workplace culture for all. An ongoing training activity coordinator is now also in place; encouraging all residents to participate in fun activities adapted; for each individual groups/needs. I trust that EDG can now only go from strength to strength with this dedicated skilled team; setting one care home from another. Big thank you to all of the staff for taking such great care of my wonderful, loving husband.

I have been working as a chef here. The kitchen is very comfortable to engage in cooking healthy foods.I really enjoy cooking for our lovely residents.
We’ve been able to achieve full star in food hygiene rating.

Interviewed here for a job and spoke with lots of patients at the home to told me it was nothing like they thought it would be like. Then heard managers screaming from the waiting room about an incident where a man had fallen out of bed and hit his head, and the family was requesting further info as you’d expect but the managers where loudly complaining things like “should i write the sky is blue too!!” because they where being asked for details. Managers aren’t responsive on email dismissive clearly of issues and patients best care and don’t seem invested in their careers which is vital when working with the vulnerable. Rude on the phones as i had to follow up with them three times about moving a date and i never turned up past this as they never replied despite four calls from me the week before and emails.
