Reviews of GP Practices are often not good.

I recently moved to the area. My wife and I have been to East Cliff Practice once each.

The waiting area is clean and spacious as are the consultation rooms. My wife felt listened to at her appointment. I was in for a blood test and it was a swift and friendly experience. I was more at ease there than I have been at any medical appointment during my last 10 years living in London.

Rang to try and get an appointment breast cancer Filled in an e consult form was told I needed an appointment to see someone as I have breast discomfort. Very abrupt receptionist told me no pre bookable appointments available, I explained I didn’t need an appointment today just soon. I was dismissed and told to ring at 8 in the morning when half of Thanet are trying to contact them ! Rude and dismissive receptionist no compassion at all !

I'm going to have to find a new practice, I have had enough, moved here 4 years ago and I think I've probably seen 6 different GPs and not the same nurse. The only way I have had to get anything sorted is to go to QEQM or when I had BUPA. Complete waste of time and if they can't keep up then they need to refer patients away

Excellent surgery, using econsult I have always had a prompt reply and a face-to-face appointment or phone appt (whichever was relevant) booked within days.
Receptionists very helpful & friendly and doctors very professional.

Do know what I been at eastcliff since 1984 .it was good then .now I just don't even bother to call or make appointment . I feel very unwell I try to treat my self .but my god i do feel ill but just given up now

Having requested an urgent prescription four days ago on advice from my nurse I find that it's still sitting in his inbox! Requested again as urgent this morning, six hours later still not completed. My products have to be posted and now will not arrive before I run out. As I am new to this type of medical condition I am extremely upset that I now have to contact the hospital for assistance.

How this surgery (mainly it’s receptionists) hasn’t been made to have an overhaul is beyond me.. receptionists think they’re medical experts, give poor advice, 2 weeks wait for an appointment, they ignore the phone deliberately when it rings.. they try their hardest to avoid booking appointments, probably so that they can sit gas-bagging all day, and treat you like an inconvenience if you turn up at the surgery. The Doctors are great, but someone there needs to seriously look at their rude reception staff that they’re employing.

I've been with this surgery for just over a year & find the Doctors thorough & comprehensive, the pod is also handy for keeping track of your weight/BP. Yes, trying to get through on the phone is problematic however I've found phoning late afternoon is the best time to speak to reception.
