I can't get through to get a routine appointment via the phone. I call over 100 times on the phone and then no appointments are left within a few minutes. I was advised by staff to que outside the practice which opens at 8.30am to get an appointment. Today I went down and queued up at 8.20am and was 5th in line. At 8.30am a staff member came outside to say only the first 4 would get routine appointments. I took time off work to try to get this appointment and I pay my taxes and work hard. My health is suffering and I can't get a routine appointment. You can't even put in a complaint online you have to go to reception to get a form. I have no access to health care at Dundonald Medical Centre.

Trying to get through to this surgery is beyond ridiculous call no 208. Then you can't get seen. Wonder how they are so busy when no calls are answered, never appointments left, & lunch is 1.5 hr long. How lovely for them !!!!!!!

Possibly the worst GP practice in Northern Ireland, better yet I would go as far as to say the world. On average you will have to ring around 400+ times (no exaggeration) to get through to a list of options; emergency, phone call doctor appointment etc. Expect to wait around 30+ minutes to then get to speak to an actual human being to then have the receptionist decide if you actually require a triage appointment with the doctor. The majority of the doctors (bar maybe 1) lack care, compassion and empathy for their patients. Almost as if you are wasting their time by enquiring regarding a medical issue. I honestly do not know how this GP is still running because it is obviously not fit for its purpose. Dundonald is in dire need of a new improved service that respects their patients and is WILLING to help them. If I could give 0 stars I would. Appalling services, rude and arrogant receptionists (not all but the majority!) and doctors. Genuinely disgusted at their services.
A 1.5 hour lunch break is also rather generous considering the doctors essentially refuse to see anyone, so why is the extended lengthy break needed? I genuinely believe this is partly why the Ulster Hospital A&E is always so busy, if this surgery played their part and actually seen patients, listened to their medical needs and contributed toward solutions then perhaps our A&E wouldn’t be so over used and under pressure.
I think the next step is for the people of Dundonald to make a stand and demand an adequate and well run GP surgery because this cannot go on.

The appointment system is not effective. You either have to call over 100 times to get through, only to be told there are no appointments available, or you take time off work to stand outside in the cold, only to find out that you weren't far enough up in the queue and all appointments have been taken within 10 minutes of the doors opening.

BEWARE DO NOT REGISTER WITH THIS GP PRACTICE
registered with this GP practice in August 2024 and after visiting once I will be changing my GP ASAP
Weeks ago I asked to speak to a doctor regarding coughing up green mucus temperature and rattling in my chest and wanting an antibiotic I was instructed it was a viral I had by reception and to go and take paracedamol and a lempsip and if it continued to ring back the following week after having it for 3 weeks and all I wanted was to speak to a GP regarding an antibiotic
Today months later was in a&e for a possible allergic reaction to something waited 12 hours to be seen by a doctor after bloods and given a cream and instructed to go to my GP as they'd be of more help than themselves
I did just that was at the door before 8.30 and doors opened exactly at 7.45 by 8.42 reception had asked everyone to leave and it was emergency cases only I was instructed to go to a pharmacy as they where a GP themselves and to get out as quick as I walked in I then asked if I could get an appointment later in the week if at all possible or the weeks following was told it was appointment by the day not by the weeks following
Left feeling disheartened and continued on to pharmacy where I said could I speak to a GP and there jaw dropped they said the meds I needed where prescription only but how can I get in to see a doc to get a prescription if the doors are closed by 7.45
Never will return and changing my doctors tomorrow
I got more info of a pharmacist than an actual GP they told me it was indeed an allergic reaction there was nothing they could prescribe without a prescription because antihistamines where not going to be effective
If you move to the area DO NOT STEP FOOT IN THIS SURGERY ULL BE LAUGHED AT AND KICKED OUT

Dreaded trying to see GP after feeling unwell all weekend but, while it was difficult to get through, once I was the staff were brilliant. The receptionist who took my details was lovely and the GP phoned me straight back. I was told to come in immediately and was seen straightaway. Seamless, caring service.

Been with the surgery for years and it's getting worse.On call from 8.30 to get through at 9.15 for them to say only urgent emergency calls. I had to go private and pay as daughter struggling with chest infection more than 10 days. Not good when I pay taxes and still have to pay private. They need to change the procedure of ringing through when we cant even get to speak to a doctor. SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE.

Wish I could give a 0 stars. My 2 year old has been in A&E twice now and is having severe reactions to something been sick on and off for 4 weeks. I put off phoning because you're on hold for, at the very least, 45mins. I couldn't put it off any longer as hospital doctors told me to take her to GP for further tests.

I called this morning at 10am took over 100 redials to even get through. 45min long wait to talk to a receptionist who said 'no more appointments' she said try again tomorrow from 8:30. Not everyone has time to stay on the phone for over an hour.

Is it any wonder A&E is full, everything over the phone it would take them 10mins to call me. Continuing to hide behind covid is not an excuse as none of the reception staff have been wearing masks for 2 years.
