Registered with this practice a year ago and not made one appt. However I did have. A problem with my eye that has lasted 10 days despite getting over the counter medications from pharmacy and optician. Tried to book appointment this morning, it appears that once the surgery has reached it’s quota of appts , the call is simply cut off. That’s what happened. Sent them a message explaining situation, no reply. A friend advised me to contact 111. Excellent service and after responding to questions adviser or nurse told me she was requesting a doctor at ‘my’ surgery called me back today. A couple of hours later I received a text from surgery asking me to send them a photo of my eye which I did - so far so good- text back from GP giving me a diagnosis and advising a particular eye cleanser. A one minute phone call would have told her that I was recommended same by optician 10 days ago and have used regularly ever since. Had to look on internet for eye condition diagnosis ( that’s what one has to do these days) and it stated antibiotic cream may have to be prescribed . Back on phone to surgery and in a Q. Receptionist called back and I am supposed to get a phone call or a prescription… we’ll see… if this GP had bothered to have only a 1 minute conversation with me, i could have told her that the wipes hadn’t been effective and so much time could have been saved (doctor, receptionist, me) and a complaint wouldn’t have ensued. Sadly my first impression of this doctor is very poor. Her name is Nadira Awal, I will make sure I don’t have her as my doctor in future.

The doctors I have spoken to so far have been polite and helpful. One has finally decided to investigate some health problems that my previous surgery wouldn't even bother to do! So that's great. The receptionists are lovely also. My only criticism (which isn't really about them but about an underfunded NHS), is that the whole business of having GPs phone you in the day is that it's very inconvenient when they don't give you a time. They are not the only surgery to operate this way. I did actually book a specific time for a consultation once but they phoned me 30 minutes after they were supposed to and I was at work. Then I got a message saying I didn't answer. But if they have a backlog I suppose what can they do? Frustrating but probably not their fault. I shall have to re-arrange but it just means you are constantly phoning them or waiting for them to phone you for sometimes weeks.

I am appalled and shocked with how my 82 year old mother was treated by the receptionist today !!!! You don’t tolerate abusive behaviour, well nor should my mother !!! Have some compassion and understanding of circumstances. Disgusting!!

Absolutely useless. Never get my repeat medication correct. Can never get an appointment. Can never get through on the phone.

Stephen French is a friendly, competent general practioner with good nursing support. He's protected by knowledgeable receptionists but can be reached with persistence. Now part of a 5 surgery group administered in Collington.

Do not be talked into taking part in the research suit at the surgery you get used and befriended.The management at the surgery also put my life in danger while dealing with a complaint.

Very poor customer service, not enough GPS in the practice and the loose your number so send out so send out a letter. But then when I check they have my number very poor service.
