I’ve had cause to use this GP surgery 3 times over the last year or so. Each time I’ve been amazed by the low call waiting time and ability to get an appointment. Keep it up!

Everything is hard work. Everything has to be chased repeatedly. EVERY month i have to beg for my prescription early because i rely on royal mail to deliver and theres no flexibility whatsoever. So today im told to change pharmacy.
I'm happy with MY CURRENT PHARMACY why should i have to change because the surgery can't be sensible? Yet again the patients right to choose means nothing. Nothing is done by same person, it's sent to hubs or district nurse and then district nurse says they are not qualified to deal with referrals sent or the referal takes weeks and goes to the wrong place because the surgery doesn't know the district nurse is not qualified in needed referal. Care delayed significantly as a result. I was told I was diabetic for first time by the RECEPTIONIST which is unacceptable. Its a gps job to make and give diagnosis and allow the patient time to ask questions or discuss concerns. Nope life changing diagnosis at 46 given by a receptionist. My blood sugar was dangerously high and low and repeat calls despite advised by diabetic team and 111 that urgent GP appointment was required were IGNORED. I still waited 5 weeks to speak to nurse and still have had no education. I was told everyone gets medication i was put on and it wouldn't cause hypo. Yes well no-one bothered hearing i have other conditions that mean this medication is NOT appropriate for me and I go hypo every afternoon. No appointment with diabetic team until February having been diagnosed in October last year. It's absolutely clear to me why CQC were concerned. No-one knows who deals with what. My consultants wanted me urgently started on medication pre surgery on 13 December. I emailed the letter to them 19th December. It's still at the hub with the duty dr despite urgent. No possible way to talk to the dr. You cannot get past the reception who with no medical training decide if you can talk to a dr. Or discuss your concerns with the dr knowing absolutely nothing because you get cut off before you can get a sentence out. If blood sugars swinging between 3.2 and 33 isn't urgent I don't know what is. I bet my death certificate would be done promptly as they get paid a ridiculous amount for doing it. I feel unsafe and treated like cattle. In words of the practice nurse " we put everyone on this medication "
Well I'm not everyone. I'm me and an individual and have a right to choose what medication i take and what treatment i accept. It is part of the patient charter and nice guidelines and expected as usual practice by the cqc. This surgery gave me no choice, refused to listen to my choice based on medical knowledge not just because of basic worries, put me on medication i knew was unsuitable and now i have the side effects that could have been prevented by appropriate medication choice.
But because its cheap and readily available thats what i get and sod the medical history. Everyone rushes you through appointments to the point you are aware they are trying to get you off the phone list ASAP. 3 minutes is about average. It's so bad if I need to contact the surgery i feel stressed to near tears.
I was disabled working as a qualified nurse for the NHS. I didn't ASK for this disability. I didn't want to be housebound. But because I am, I'm treated like a second rate drain on resources. consultant requested 3 monthly blood tests and medication. It wasn't done because they couldn't find the request letter and my word was not enough. A phone call to the professor to confirm was clearly too much to ask for while I developed unstable diabetes and was reporting all the symptoms to the surgery noone recognised because I couldn't talk to a trained person for a reasonable time to explain symptoms
I have worked with over 50 GP surgeries in my career and have never known such difficulties. The systems in place are for staff convenience not patient wellbeing and show the slightest of frustration they have the we will take you off our books line ready. I have tried to persevere but I feel unsafe in this surgeries so called care.

Needed a sick note for work as had the flu and was off for more then 7 days. The stress to get a sick note from the doctors is a joke. Can't get though on the phone as too many people on the phone, no1 knows what they are doing and sick notes are not delt with by a doctor so they don't call you to discuss just say you can't have one

I recently moved to your gp surgery, dashwood house,I just want to say how straightforward and quick the registration process was having up dates all the time on the process.
I had to use the econsult last week as I had a chesty cough and the antibiotics were at the pharmacy the same day .
Again today I had to do an econsult as my asthma has been effected i then had a call with an appointment for this afternoon.
I see a lovely advanced clinical practitioner called Mel who was amazing and friendly and made me feel at ease
I was very happy with my visit, the receptionist I spoke to to make an appointment with the nurse was also very friendly over all I am.so pleased I made this move .
Thankyoj

Dreadful practice. Manager has absolutely no training on how to treat people with severe mental health issues. Infact this practice has been dreadful and negligent on all levels. Please think twice before even joining.

Despite the challenges the NHS has, my experiences with Dashwood has been a relaiable, informative and professional one. It is true, that it can be difficult to get an appointment, but the introduction of E-consult has made this a lot easier. The staff are friendly and caring.

My baby is three months overdue for his jabs. I received a message asking me to book in an appointment for my baby’s vaccination but im now being told I can’t book one and they’ll contact me when there’s a space free as there’s not enough nurses. Still waiting on an appointment three months later really disappointing.
