Training here for year or so as very convenient for me train in the day while kids at school.

Out the blue the 'unlimited' gym membership was suddenly without any notice to members 'very limited' gym membership, no notice just a sign one morning saying paying members can no longer use the weights room and door is now locked, as say NO NOTICE!!

Staff in gym have been very good about it trying to make accomodations, but its the top brass seem to think were all perverts suddenly and going to run off with students from the gym, its coverered in cctv too, oh well i guess its the 21st century woke creeping into every aspect of daily life..

Essentially can no longer train in weights room unless evening or weekend, its still advertised everywhere as 'unlimited gym usage' though..so stuff the paying members basically.

Will now have to travel to cambridge to train daily.

Had a lovely experience at the Cambridge community iftaar fundraiser 2023 at this venue.
Easy to get to and ample parking. Sports hall is reasonable size and just perfect for the pre Iftaar evening prayer with congregation.

We visited for an event (our group had hired the hall) and while the hall itself was fine, it was pretty disappointing to see that there was no loo paper in any of the loos I visited, and no hand soap either. Didn't make a good impression.

Gym review:

An adequate gym with the basics. A cardio and fitness room, a small weights room (limited selection and machines) and classes.

The classes are great fun and the PTs are really friendly and keep you motivated throughout.

One good thing about the gym is that you don't have to be a member to use the facilities. You can sign up as a pay as you go customer and pop into the gym as you wish (with a cost, but a reasonable price), this applies for the classes too.

Plenty of parking at the weekend however, when in school hours parking will be limited.

I have used the gym on and off since I moved to Comberton 4 years ago and have very recently become an annual member (again). It provides good all around facilities (gym, weight room) and a range of fitness classes for all abilities. The management changed recently and we have seen a massive improvement in the offering since so I'd urge anyone who came to CSA before and was disappointed to give the new team another chance. The fitness instructors and many local people met at the classes have become personal friends so the gym doubles up well as a community hub.

The gym has started offering teenage classes for CVC students but at only one session a week I feel there's still scope for improvement.

Visited auditorium for a Christmas theatre production. Nice space, comfortable seating, but not enough public bathrooms - appeared to be only one between about 100 people.

The new covid opening times are completely unreasonable and make it extremely inconvenient.
07:00-08:00 then 16:30-20:00
Why can’t we go to the gym during this period?
It’s almost like you are closed when csf students who are paying customers are most likely to go. The option to freeze our memberships is unrealistic as if we do this we will not be able to go to the gym during the weekend the other option is to continue our memberships and pay a months membership for 400 minutes of use. I hope you strongly reconsider.
