I had cataract surgery this week
CHEC Leicester was my most convenient location, staff were absolute stars and were very efficient from my assessment visit on Monday to my surgery on Thursday.
I cant thank the CHEC Leicester team enough, and im just so pleased to have my sight restored back to what it should be.

Had a laser eye treatment. Appointment was for 9.45am. Arrived 5 mins prior and checked in fine.
Asked if I had already administered eye drops but I wasn’t aware that I had to nor was I given any prior to treatment.
Had someone come into the reception area and administered eye drops to dilate pupils for laser treatment. I thought this was strange as this was done in the waiting reception area. Didn’t get seen for almost an hour. Waiting time too long for such a treatment.
Need to be more efficient with appointment times.
On the plus, all the staff were friendly and helpful.

DON’T VALUE PATIENT’S TIME

Their own doctor parks his vehicle in disabled spot. No disable badge displayed in the car and seemed fine too.

When there for a few appointments with my mum the lest amount that we have waited to be seen by someone is 50 mins. Keep in mind never been late for appointments always been at-least 5-10 mins early Infact.

The worse was when my mum had an appointment at 3:30 and we got a call telling us someone cancelled their appointment of 11:15 and we can come in early. So we booked it and reached on 11:15. We got there at 11:10 5 mins early And were seen at 3:50. 20 mins late then our original appointment time. Almost felt like we were in an A&E.

they need to learn to respect their patients time.

Staff at CHEC are good but not they don't have proper information regarding how long patients need to wait. Waiting time always more than hour, always doctors running late, what's the point of booking an appointment if patients need to wait upto 70 to 80 minutes, ALWAYS! There is no value for time! Shame !

Reception and staff extremely helpful and pleasant. However, booking system is not geared towards patients, especially those who have to travel a distance. Will explain further if this is of concern to management.
