The best doctors surgery I've ever been to. The receptionists I've talked to have always been pretty polite. The doctors seem to actually care about the patients and are willing to work with the patients about issues. The only negative I have to say is about very long wait times but that's common for all doctors nowadays.

Genuinely no idea why this practice has such low reviews; every encounter I’ve had with any staff members has been lovely. The GPs have always listened to any issues, the nurses are friendly and professional, and the receptionists are always really helpful.

I'm afraid I can only agree with other reviews, one of the receptionists really lets the team down. Quite frankly, she is terse and rude. My heart sinks when I recognise her on the phone or manning the front desk. No matter how polite or calm I stay, I feel I can't win with this woman.
It's not personal though, whilst sat in the waiting room I've witnessed her be as rude to other people. It's embarrassing to see the way she treats people, especially those who speak English as an additional language or who are quite young adults (not uncommon with it being sited opposite a university!).

This review is specifically for the receptionist who answered my call between 8:20 and 8:30 AM on February 17, 2025. Her attitude was shockingly rude—she was dismissive, unhelpful, and completely lacked empathy. I have been using this clinic’s services for the past 3.5 years, and every other staff member, from the GPs to the nurses, has always been kind, professional, and respectful. However, this particular receptionist stands out for all the wrong reasons.

After receiving instructions to call at 8 AM (a nearly impossible time to get through due to high call volume) to book a follow-up consultation for my test results, I had already been struggling to secure an appointment since last week. Despite calling to explain the difficulty in getting through, I kept trying as advised. This morning, after repeatedly dialing from 8:00 AM, I finally got through at 8:20, only for this receptionist to coldly tell me to "keep trying"—as if the issue was my fault. It took raising my voice just to be scheduled for an appointment in early March.

Her lack of professionalism and empathy is completely unacceptable in a role that requires compassion and strong people skills. She is a poor representation of this clinic’s otherwise excellent staff. Every other person I’ve encountered here has been polite, considerate, and genuinely helpful—she is the glaring exception.

After many years with my old surgery I finally decided to leave for various reasons I won’t go into. My girlfriend had at the time recently joined Campus and had only good things to say, so I joined.

Brilliant choice. They answer the phone quickly, appointment wait times are only the same as other places, and all the staff are very friendly.

The receptionist at this doctors, need to do a course on go to deal and how to speak to people with respect, been to 3 doctors in hu postcode, 2 in hull one in cottingham and I can definitely say the reception ruin this doctors, there lucky it's in a heavily populated area, because they make the experience terrible from the minute you ring the most obvious fake voices, have no complaints about the doctors they do a good job when the receptionist lets them

I am an Asian patient with a perfectly functional command of the English language. Despite this, my very first interaction with your clinic left me flabbergasted. You booked a translator for me without informing me and rescheduled my appointment to accommodate it. When I called to ask why my appointment had been cancelled 30 minutes before it was due, I was told, quite incredulously, that I had personally walked into the clinic, requested a translator, and rebooked my own appointment. Spoiler alert: I did not.

While I am fully aware mistakes happen, the lack of apology or even acknowledgment of the possibility of error was unsettling. Either someone made an egregious note-taking mistake or you confused me with another Asian patient, which is not a great look. Racist? Maybe. An administrative disaster? Absolutely.

At the time, I chose to believe it was just an honest mix-up, albeit handled poorly. However, today, a year later, my white partner was on the receiving end of similar gaslighting. This really adds some extra spice to the situation because if this happens regardless of ethnicity, it is starting to look like there is a systemic issue with patient communication and accountability.

I understand there are not many alternative clinics in the area, which means we are unfortunately stuck with you. That said, I sincerely hope you take this feedback on board and work towards ensuring all patients, regardless of their ethnicity or perceived English skills, are treated with respect, clear communication, and a willingness to own up to mistakes when they happen.

Thank you for your time and attention. This will be posted on Google review just so the public can hold you accountable.

All the best.

Reception staff is absolutely awful and rude.

Update after a month or two:
Do not sign up for this health centre.
Reception staff are some of the most disgusting two people I have ever had to deal with. Absolutely vile.
