Rang at 8am and was 4th in the queue, it only took a few minutes and the phone was answered. To my delight I was in the surgery by 9.50am.The doctor was brilliant asking me lots of questions and giving me advise as well as a persription. By night time I was already starting to feel better, so all in all a great experience.

The reception staff seem to do their level best to prevent you from seeing a gp. After holding for 30 minutes, you are just told there are no slots are available for weeks and to call back at 8 am the following day. I’m also tired of being fobbed off and told to go to drop in Center or A and E just to get rid of me. This practice also send generic texts messages to all patients threatening you with removal if you are abusive to staff, which is fair enough, but such messages shouldn’t be sent to the long suffering patients who are having to put up with their poor service. This used to be a first rate practice, but now it’s abysmal. Very badly run.

Told to call back at 12.00 as no appointments in the morning (as usual). Waiting in a queue on the phone from 11.59, apparently number 5 in the queue. After 5 minutes of holding, I was next in line....15 minutes later I started walking to the doctors while on hold. Got to the surgery (nobody in the waiting room as usual)...still on hold, spoke to the receptionist who told me there were no appointments! I questioned why no one was answering my call (at least tell me there were no appointments) and when she inquired to the back room where the calls are apparently taken, the woman was in the office, but not taking calls!? I questioned why, even though I was 'caller number 5' in the non existent 'queue' there were no appointments and asked how many appointments are available in the afternoon - no response, can't answer that either....5 x 5 minute appointments equates to 25 minutes, bear in mind the overstatement as technically there would only be 4 available appointments, given that my call wasn't answered and that's assuming these callers got appointments and didn't just hang up after waiting too long. What is the ONLY (yes, one) doctor at the surgery doing for the rest of the afternoon? NHS at it's best...if this place can only muster 1 GP who is always too busy to see patients what is the point in funding this surgery? They already close half day Wed and Thurs...rubbish so called service.

PS, I have now tried all three of 'West Leeds Family Practice' surgeries, two cut me off after being on hold (again, number 5 in the queue - literally can't make this .... up!), one told me to ring back at 4pm, which I did & still no appointments...

I have been a patient here for 7 years and the service has plummetted in recent years. It's near on impossible to get through via phone, the reception team are always abrupt and unhelpful, they ignore e-mails and the wait times for appointments are ridiculous!

Since I live in the UK, I have attended different surgeries and Calverley Surgery is, without doubt, the best practice I have ever been. The team are amazing, the doctors very caring and the admin staff very efficient, specially Joanne. Great place.

This has go to be the worst Doctors surgery in Leeds. The receptionists are rude, you can NEVER get an appointment to see a doctor, no matter what time of day you call. 'No can do attitude' sums up this place. AVOID
