It is coming up to the 2nd anniversary of my partners stay at Bromford Lane Care centre and I am familiar with the routines and methods of looking after residents by dedicated staff. Over a week, I will probably spend a total of 20 to 25 hrs in total including weekends and various times in the week. I can say confidently that my partner receives the absolute care that he requires including excellent meals, jugs of fresh water/cordials in his spacious well maintained room and the attention of carers and nurse on demand. The room is barcoded which ensures that accurate records of staff checks are recorded. I am able to check when showers are given and and by whom. A nurse will update me of my friends condition and if any changes are noticed. Staff are obliging to me but more importantly give residents the attention that they need including feeding and other personal needs. If i need to speak to the manager, i am able to do so but short notice is required because they are very busy. When someone you love goes into care you initially feel that nothing is good enough for him/her but overtime you will get to know and trust those who have been given the highly responsible and important job of seeing that the utmost care, consideration and dignity is shown to those entrusted in their vital care.

I would beg anybody not to consider this place for a loved one to stay under any circumstances. My dad has been here for 10 weeks on an EAB. An ambulance was called on Friday as my dads SATS was 88 and had fluid on his lungs. He was without furosemide for 11 days, awaiting a prescription they said. He was dehydrated, he was asking for a drink, nobody came and water not topped up. They gave him laxatives by mistake. A new resident attacked my dad at night while sleeping in his bed with a chair. A bruise was noted in a book. Again they said it was highly unlikely that happened and his medication caused bruising (see photo) absolute joke. Another resident urinating outside my dads room. All shoved in the day room which is no bigger than a prison cell. His teeth are missing along with his watch. CQC informed by the hospital and safeguarding measures were put in place. His mood has picked up massively while being in hospital. Funny no contact from the manager and I was blocked on their Facebook page. There’s more than one way to skin a cat. I’m taking this to highest level

We've known the team and the residents at Bromford Lane for about 4 years. In that time they have taken really good care of my mum. Everyone is very respectful to each other and the consistency of the careers makes it easier for anyone suffering with Dementia.

This place is a joke, I don't know how anyone can put their loved ones there. The place smells like an ashtray, the house manager is a nightmare, she is disgusted to look at and even worse to listen to as nothing but lies come out of her mouth. The entire management is a family business that has no idea what they are doing. The employees have no competences, because whoever is competent would want to work for the minimum wage? Best part is that home manager is forcing staff to add a good reviews so the “business” looks good.

My elderly mother was in there for a couple of weeks until i got a phone call that she had fallen over and cut her head. They told me it was a small cut but when i got to the hospital they sent her to, the cut was a gash and she had lost quite a lot of blood. My mom was 90 at the time and even the doctor at the hospital said she would have to be doing somersaults to cause a cut like that. Even he said she must of been pushed!! Got the police involved and moved mom out asap. They said she had tripped and cut her head! 😡 on returning the next day to collect moms belongings we found that they had moved all the furniture round in her room so it looked easier for mom to trip. Place needs closing down and the staff need locking up!!

This is a horrible place to leave your loved ones who are suffering with dementia. My grandfather was repeatedly left in urine. They kept bringing and taking away food and drinks without encouraging him to eat. He has mystery lumps and bruises and even split his head open, but staff could not explain what happened. When challenged about the level of neglect they say it's for the patients dignity because they declined personal care.Without family visiting, he would have died of starvation and dehydration or infection. This place needs investigation and a complete overhaul!

My grandad who has dementia was sent to Bromford lane care home following a hospital admission for temporary residence where the staff welcomed him with open arms. The care he received and still is currently receiving, as now his been fortunate to have obtained a permanent residency here is absolutely amazing. The staff promote his independence and support him with ADLs and are always interacting with him, treating him like one of their own family members. You can see that this is genuine care that’s being provided from people who actually care, ensuring they give their patients the best. Because of the staff here at Bromford grandad have been built back up to his old cheery, funny, comical self. We as a family cannot thank the staff enough for making grandad fell safe, happy and at home and keeping him busy with his new “job”! He absolutely loves it here with you guys and we love the fact his constantly socialising. We love seeing pictures/videos of him on your Facebook page xx

My dad was in this care home for 2 months after being discharged from hospital. He has dementia. This care home is absolutley terrible. It is shocking they have a good rating. There is hardly anyone at reception. I waited over 15 minutes to get in once and had to call them to say I'm at the door. The buzzer at the door is useless, they don't ever answer it. There is an office with a window which can see you arrive at the front door an many times they see me buzzing and just let me wait before they come out to let me in. When they eventually let you in they don't even say hello, just open the door and walk off. I asked one if the workers in the elevator what's it like working here and she said "it is bad", I wish she lied but she couldnt even do that for my benefit. They are very unprofessional. My dad fell a lot when he first got there and had bruises, they said he wad trying to sit down and missed the chair. This was frequent so its hard to say if they where abusing him or not because he would do this sometimes but they should be helping him sit down. The food is worst than school dinners. They don't do any activities, they make them all sit in the lounge all day so they can watch them all at once, while they are heavily drugged up. They lost many of his clothes and a few family pictures. They really don't care about the people in the home. Staff are just there for the money and no real love or quality care is in this home. If have visited 9 homes in the last few months working out where to move my dad and nowhere I visited comes close to how bad this place is. This is HELL for whoever has to stay at Bromford. I use to visit my dad late and one night I saw them all running around scared as one of the residents was having an issue and watching them panic about what medication they gave the person and panicking, they where all a bit frantic and unorganised and called an ambulance. While this was going on all the other residents had no attention for a good while. Whoever owns this home truly does not care and I'm sure they would never let their family stay there.
