My experience of the management and the staff of Brockington is extremely good. My mother has been a resident there for over 3 years and in that time we have faced many challenges and changes in her health and mental decline due to her illness.
The manager at all times been very supportive and helpful and if I ever need to raise an issue it is dealt with very efficiently. I have on occasion just knocked on her door and she has always been ready and willing to help.
I have complete trust and faith in the way that my mother is being cared for at Brockington and would recommend this home to any other family without hesitation.

When we had to make the hard decision to put our Ma into care, it was around covid times. Brockington house was the only care Home that would take her in for a weeks respite so that we could assess if Ma would settle. first week went well, so we we tried another Month, Ma still was settled, so we decided to make it permanent. It was the best decision that we made. Ma has been there 3 years now and she will be 100 in December, God willing. Ma has the best care immaginable, all the staff are wonderful and we have witnessed some challenges they have faced while we were visiting Ma and they have handled it in a very professional way.We don't visit on set days, it is very random, but on every occasion the home is spotless, Ma is clean and comfortable and we feel very welcome at any time.. We highley recommend Brockington House and wouldn't want Ma to be anywhere else. We have peace of mind.

Unfortunately I must agree with a previous reviewer who stated that : ‘no matter how nice the building is, that does not represent care and compassion’, and the CQC ‘s rating of ‘ requires improvement’ in terms of how this home is led.
My father in law was happily placed there until a few ‘ incidents’ occurred, about which we had no proper explanation or meeting with the Manager.
We were told on two occasions that the Manager would like him ‘removed’. There was no meeting to discuss this , and we were not given any details of the incidents or when / where etc.
When we asked for an explanation the second time we were promptly pacified and told that if my father in law was not ‘removed’ an ambulance would be called and he would be taken to hospital. Therefore we were given an ultimatum.
Think very carefully before you place your loved one here; if he /she doesn’t fit the mould they will be removed, no questions asked. The carers are lovely, the Manager is shocking. Requires improvement.

My mother has been in brockington house for 3 years. After looking at many care homes in Hereford my sister made the decision that brockington stood head and shoulders above the others.
We visit my mother every week and have witnessed first hand the wonderfull care she receives from all members of staff.
From bev the hairdresser to all the carers
. The place is always spotless and warm
Nothing ever seems too much trouble for them. Any concerns we have are always dealt with by the manageress who we find approachable and experienced in her role.
We could not ask for better care for my mum who is 94 and has dementia
Thankyou brockington house and all the staff.

My mother was one of the first residents to be welcomed at this newly opened care facility last August. I’d actually call it a 5* star hotel with exceptional care. With the current pandemic concerns I have had no reservations as the safeguarding policies put in place to protect our vulnerable relatives have been second to none. I have nothing but praise and admiration for the wonderful staff. Their dedication, & professionalism is a credit to them all.

Recommended by the hospice palliative care team for my father leaving hospital. On visiting the home I was greeted by the manager who appeared to look us up and down before asking if we had a Covid test? On hearing my 83 year old Mother had not she was told to sit on a chair in the doorway while I viewed the premises.
Appearing like a London five star Hotel and decorated to a very high standard with coffee lounge and bar with deep pile carpet. The room I was shown was immaculate but sadly the lack of warmth and care failed to give me confidence in this establishment. On explaining my fathers condition I was quickly told 'he will not be coming here'.
Sadly the impression I was left with is no matter how nice the building is this does not represent care and compassion which when unwell is the upmost of importance to us all.

My mother recently was readmitted to Brockington after another fall ,as always greeted with kindness and compassion, today whilst sitting in the gardens one of the carers bought an elderly lady out in a wheelchair, she walked around the grounds with her and then sat for a good length of time chatting to her so that she could enjoy the outside space .All I can say is Thankyou all for your care .
