Absolutely appalling experience at Bristol Hospital. One of my staff members suffered a deep hand cut and was bleeding heavily. I rushed her there in a taxi expecting urgent care, but instead we were left waiting for more than 90 minutes without any proper attention or compassion.
The reception staff were shockingly dismissive. From behind their glass, they made assumptions about the seriousness of the injury and treated her with clear judgment. The way they spoke to us lacked any sense of empathy or basic respect. One of the first things they asked was, ā€œHow did you even get here?ā€ — as if that mattered more than the fact that she was in visible pain and distress.
After a long wait, when my staff member began to feel faint, the only advice offered was to lie on the floor and raise her legs. No assistance, no urgency, no care. This is meant to be a place of healing — but we felt dehumanized, ignored, and unwelcome. I honestly can’t believe this is how a hospital treats people. Deeply disappointed. we are now waiting for almost 2 hours.

I recently had my first-ever hospital stay at Bristol Royal Infirmary, and I can honestly say it was a 10 out of 10 experience. I was looked after on Ward A609, and I couldn’t have asked for better care.

From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredible—kind, professional, and genuinely caring. The doctors took time to explain everything clearly and treated me with respect, while the nurses on A609 were attentive, friendly, and always ready to help. They made what could have been a daunting experience feel calm and manageable.

The ward itself was clean, organised, and comfortable. I felt safe and well cared for throughout my stay. Even the food exceeded my expectations!

A huge thank you to everyone on Ward A609—you made my first hospital stay a positive and reassuring experience. I’m so grateful for the amazing care I received.

Highly recommend BRI to anyone in need of treatment—the staff truly go above and beyond.

Partner went in with what turned out to be a twisted bowel, staff excellent in general, at times more info could have been useful, l was lucky getting a parking space and I arrived at 5am! Think the parking situation let's the hospital down, and I ended with a £25 charge for the day this is excessive to say the least! On a positive note it's 5min walk from the main bus stop.

Had lung op at thoracic ward 700. All staff excellent. ,polite caring, and professional.Facilities ,food and cleanliness good.Hospital provided overnight stay on day before as I live over 60 miles away Discharge a bit chaotic as I had to arrange pick up time with family who were over 60 miles away and getting a time for this was not easy

Awful, just truly awful. Don’t have an emergency in Bristol.
Been sat in A&E Monday from 3am till 8.30am and still waiting to be seen. I wouldn’t mind but there’s hardly anyone here ! To top it all off, the drinks machines not working.

My 76 year old wife fell down some steps at Temple Meads station on Wednesday 21st May, a number of doctors traveling to cardiff provided instant care until the prompt arrival of paramedics followed soon after by an ambulance. Care at the scene was exemplary and after blue lights to the BRI staff at the hospital also provided wonderful treatment. All in all an excellent service

My husband had a 5 star service at this hospital - he had a medical episode at Bristol airport & was taken by ambulance to this hospital. He was fast tracked & seen by lovely staff in A&E & triage. They made sure they checked him over thoroughly and left no stone unturned . The paramedics which attended him were very professional and gave him excellent medical attention. We really appreciated all what they done.
