Sadly some receptionists are not helpful when trying to get a prescription that has been sent to surgery from a consultant. Saying they have not had it & not looking any further, then sent another urgent one & still saying they have not had it!! With technology now what’s going on In the end one very nice receptionist sorted it on the computer to dr & hopefully to the pharmacist

The staff are always lovely. So friendly and helpful. It makes you feel better just seeing them! I feel doctors, nurses and receptionist get so much criticism I had to post this. Thank you so much 😊

Had tests because my breathing is bad, months later they text to say contact us to discuss results, couldn’t get through on phone for four days, walked to surgery they said you can only do it by phone so now we have no further contact. Useless.

I hadn't registered at this doctors as yet, due to only moving into the area recently. But I needed to get my newborn checked as i had a concern. They registered him straight away and saw him at that moment. They were so accommodating and lovely. We saw Dan and Lindsey and I can't thank them enough for being so kind and fitting me and my son in for an appointment.

Totally impossible to get a same day appointment, we have phoned for several days at 8.30 sharp only to be told that the call queue is full and to be cut off. Have been with this practice since it first opened and this is the worst it has ever been. No wonder the hospitals are ao busy when you can't ever get to see a GP.

The Doctors here are the best I've ever had. Take time to listen to you and work through you problems and explain it to you. You are a treated like a person and cared for.

The reception on the other hand are a complete nightmare, very difficult to get appointments, due to an awful booking system, which is common in most surgeries now. Pre booking is almost impossible.

The reception seem to take pride in having a little authority and like making decisions that over rule what the Dr has told you.

Dr says to get a message passed to him if you need to update them about a condition you have been consulted and had a previous appointment for, and they will ring back when is convenient to them.

When you contact the reception staff, it's hit or miss if they will, or just flat out refuse and insist you make an appointment that you don't need, which take the resource away from people that need it more urgently.

I suggest they get their act together and have the reception team do their job and pass on the messages, and not try and second guess what the doctor has told the patient to do.

The best surgery we have ever been patients of. Was so upset when we moved as we had to change surgeries. Dr McGregor was our doctor and I can't sing her praises enough. She was professional, caring, great at explaining things, efficient, a very pleasant and caring doctor, I wish we could have taken her with us when we moved. All the receptionists are lovely, bubbly, personable, great on the phone and in person. A very very good and well run surgery.

Excellent care from Drs, Nurses, Receptionist, secretaries. Dan the Paramedic.
And we have all been rude to someone. We hope they will accept it as a reaction to stress. So, have a bit of patience and ask yourself how you would respond in those hours, of trying to answer the calls for appointments. It's not just Bridgeside having problems. There is a shortage of GPs nationally. Accept an appointment with a nurse, they may be able to deal with the problem you have.
If you can't get through, then write a note for your GP and post it,or go in and explain you have had difficulty getting through. And phone has just cut out after a certain amount of time.
