A wonderful surgery with GPs that actually take the time to chat to you and find out what’s going on beyond the symptoms. Reception staff are knowledgeable and polite. Absolute gem of a practice!

I was very impressed recently when using the new Online request form for a doctor to call me back at 14.30. Within an hour Dr Scrivens rang me back. After the symptoms were explained, he made a prompt diagnosis and arranged for the medication to be collected from my local pharmacy. A fantastic service which allowed me to administer the prescription on the same day and within 7 days I was well on the way to recovery. Thank you so much.

I live in Leicestershire but needed to contact my mom's GP for a home assessment. I was dreading it, where we live you can't get through to the GP and it's very hard to get appointments. I discovered and used the online form request, got a call back in minutes from a friendly and helpful person and later that day a call from the GP who was also very friendly and helpful. I wish this system was available where we live and well done to Bridge House for implementing it. People of Stratford you are very fortunate to live where you do.

I was asked to contact the surgery to make an appointment. It was booked 2 weeks ahead. Today(1 week ahead) I was told by message the appointment can't be done. Apparently the Dr has a meeting. When I've just spoken to the surgery I have been told someone will call me in a 3 hour slot.
I too have appointments in my working life and have to set times, it's called common courtesy.
Apparently the Dr's status means that they can do what they like to suit them and we have to just put up with it.
Computer says no is the way this surgery functions.

It's me Marc. Great surgery, Claire is the most helpful pharmacist, definitely the office fitty no offence to the other girls. Overall I would recommend this place over other surgeries (boo to the one by train station)

I have always found the staff at Bridge House Medical Centre to be friendly and helpful, The receptionists try their hardest to fit in appointments and will give advice about when to try again if nothing is available. The doctors and nurses are friendly and reassuring and take the time to listen.

Without question, the best GP practice we have ever experienced and as a family, we’ve had a few over the years.
A friendly welcoming team from Receptionist through to GP, who make the whole experience so easy and re-assuring.
If ‘Carling’ made GP practices, this is how it should be.
Well done to you all.

Since April they have now introduced a system where you can only get an appointment for anything via doing an online "e-consult" which is then monitored by GP or medical practitioner as appropriate and responded to.
If you cannot do this it is aggressively made clear that they will do it for you over the phone - thus blocking the switchboard - and there will be NO exceptions to this rule whatsoever.

This is because without consulting patients they signed up to Accurx who are an NHS licensed data partner and using AI. If there is less inputs through the e-consult because patients prefer to phone for an appointment or get one on Patient access they no longer can and Accurx don't get paid, hence the rule.

Again we've seen the move similar to COVID times of aggressively distancing patients and an incredibly unhelpful method. I mean it's helpful to implement digital authoritarianism for the bank balance of Uber wealthy "tech bros" who've bought their way into the NHS. It does nothing to serve patients whatsoever.

If they say that was agreed via their patient participation group, that is a small select group they just shop things past them to get a nodding dog agreement.

Yes there is a complaints policy and procedure but there are no exceptions to the "online consultation" rule so formal complaint will most likely result in a patient being deemed aggressive, unreasonable and lead to them being delisted.

It's very sad the service has come to these and the gains made since COVID in becoming patient aligned have been flushed away so they can become super efficient and please Wes Streeting 👍
