I love this proper village practice. When I go in its always the same nurses that I see and they’re lovely. I am however not so impressed since the new link up with the surgery in Ashbourne. My Doctors surgery is Brailsford and they consistently send you to Ashbourne, to see a nurse practitioner. Getting to see a Doctor seems to be impossible. I absolutely never had an issue getting to see a Doctor at Brailsford before they linked up. Please don’t lose the village Doctors set up and replace with corporate nonsense!

In late September 2023 I was advised to get a small-ish wound on my face looked at by my doctor. This advice was given by a relative-in-law who had suffered skin cancer many years ago. Within an hour of ringing the practice and sending a photograph one of the team saw me and within a week I had an appointment with a specialist at Derby General who diagnosed a BCC (base cell carcinoma). Within a month I'd had another appointment with a surgeon and was booked in for a day operation to remove the man BCC and another small one on my forehead.
I have just been discharged by the surgeon so I thought it time I thanked everyone in the 'chain' who passed me on for treatment. In a difficult period for the NHS it seemed to me to be an example of how it can deliver a really good service.

I had an excellent service from Brailsford Medical Practice today. I got an appointment very quickly. The GP (Dr Lowe) who I saw was great. She was very thorough and explained everything well and she was kind. The good news is she is a permanent member of staff. I understand there is also a new clinical administration system, System 1 being put in place.

I am getting a very good service from the practice. I find the reception staff to be polite and helpful and I am usually able to get through in a reasonable timeframe in the current climate. I am able to get an appointment face to face or over phone as needed and find the doctors to be helpful and compassionate. Have had a few issues with delays to getting medication from the dispensary but this seems to be improving.

I have recently had 2 appointments with Dr Lowe, both times she has been wonderful and has shown me not only care and compassion but is happy to spend time explaining everything to me. In addition I would like to sing the praises for the dispensary team who issued my medication immediately with barely any wait and it was lovely to see no queue. Many thanks to all the team at Brailsford.

I was fortunate, all my medication was in. TWO patients in front of me were told their medication was not available, one not until the end of the month. When she asked what would happen if she stopped taking it, she was told "I don't know" The lads in the dispensary seemed too young for this responsibility.

Excellent consultation with a lovely GP Dr Ward who saw my daughter for migraines. very thorough consultation and the reception team are amazing, there was no problem obtaining an appointment either.
