Just had my first appointment at Bolton Community Practice with Dr. Sebastian Pillon. He was incredibly informative and thorough—the most insightful GP I’ve ever seen. I left feeling so grateful and reassured. Brilliant work.

I’d be apprehensive to say this practice even deserves one star. I had been registered here for the past approximately 15 years and throughout attended this practice for multiple ongoing problems which I feel have been ignored and unseen to despite countless visits. The main problem is not the qualified healthcare staff but the overall system and management, I work in healthcare myself and understand that sometimes no matter how well patients are treated by staff they are still failed by the declining system of the NHS. Although I have felt ignored by some practitioners whose names I cannot remember, nurse Karen and mental health practitioner Ian have been great and have always listened to my health issues thoroughly. The reception staff answer calls with rude manner (I can’t say all as I have had kind receptionists previously but the majority of time not) and they appear uninterested in answering your queries and concerns. The appointment availability is unacceptable, attempting to arrange an on the day appointment at 8am often leaves you without one and trying to pre book an appointment leaves you with a 3-7 week wait and there is no acknowledgement of urgent symptoms. Sometimes they’ll tell you a GP will contact you over the phone on the day to assess your symptoms and then no one rings you all day from the practice. The final straw for me was when I rang last week describing tachycardia, feeling faint and CHEST PAIN and they told me they had no appointments for 4 weeks, neither did they advise me on what to do or where else to go for urgent medical attention. I have since changed practice and they have been a huge improvement.

Could I please give a mention to one of your nurses called Karen. I saw Karen last week at horwich surgery. She was a star. I had to have some tests she explained everything. She took the trouble to phone me late last night to explain the results. 10 out 10 from me.

Saw doctor Pathan this afternoon and she treated me with great empathy and examined me thoroughly, we need more doctors like her. Hope she gets a permanent post with you, she is certainly an asset in my opinion.

My recent visit to Market Surgery in Horwich was nothing short of a nightmare. The receptionist's attitude was beyond rude, bordering on outright hostility. It felt like dealing with an emotionless robot. To add insult to injury, getting an appointment seemed like an impossible feat, and my concerns about my condition were blatantly ignored. This clinic needs a serious wake-up call in terms of empathy and patient care. My experience left me not just frustrated, but genuinely disheartened by the lack of compassion. It's high time they reassess their priorities.

SHOCKING to say the least. Our son was discharged from hospital after having a stroke. Could not get an appointment with a doctor for after care. Had to make do with a telephone consultation. When trying to order a repeat prescription was told it had to be by email only. After sending the email I got a reply saying because they had not prescribed this medication before they rejected the request. Ended up having to contact the hospital to get his medication dispensed from the pharmacy at the hospital. Needless to say my son is changing doctors to a practice that is not run by bureaucratic, jobs worth, people with scant regard for their patients.

I visited and was seen by a lady doctor. Dr pathen. Examined me thouroghly unlike another doctor who pretends to do his job and is stealing money in my opinion. After all when we are poorly and in pain we need a dr with empathy as well as proffesionalism. I feel that she is going to be very popular as was dr parr. I came away from the surgery feeling like i had been listened to and looked after properly. Cannot praise this dr high enough
