First class care! Our 4 year old daughter was extremely ill between Christmas and New year. They rushed her in without delay. The receptionist was friendly, the triage nurses were absolutely fantastic with us and our daughter and the doctor was swift and explained everything. We thank you! The waiting room was packed. I know we complain about waiting times and the NHS but these staff will see everyone in their power. Please choose your service carefully and you will receive the right care. 5 stars for Beverley Urgent Care Centre.

On holiday in the area when needed to see a GP and had excellent service here. Arrived mid morning on Thursday, checked in by receptionist, waiting room was busy but was seen by triage nurse within 30 minutes, then saw GP within another 10, diagnosis made, prescription sent direct to local pharmacy, out within an hour. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I have a similar UTC near to where I live which is equally good; can’t fault this NHS strategy for dealing with minor, non A&E issues.

Fractured my ankle, had xray, plaster cast and out in less than 3hrs. It was really busy, the staff were very polite and knowledgeable, gave me all the information I needed for after care too.

I had a scalded lower arm and was told by a relative to get myself to the minor injuries unit as it looked horrendous and was blistering. I arrived on a quiet tea time and was seen incredibly quickly. The reception man was lovely and very chatty and put me at ease. He added lots of questions about how I had done it . Very quickly I was called to be seen.
The nurse said I had done the right thing going as it needed sorting and dressing. She deroofed the blisters and made me aware of infection. She told me to come back in 48 hours to have it checked and redressed and bandaged. I was in and out in 30 minutes.
I came back 48 hours later and the unit was much busier. I sat and waited for two and a half hours but was seem by yet another lovely nurse who checked it and put new dressings and bandage on. I was told to go back again in 36 to 48 hours. I found the whole system brilliant and we are very fortunate to have this facility . It does say waits will be about 4 hours. So with this in mind I was very grateful for the overall experience. Thank you!

After visiting this Hospital for an eye injury which happened to a work colleague. I would honestly say - “Avoid” if you don’t want to waste 4 hours waiting to be seen.
A couple of people in the waiting room have been before and have also waited around 3 hours before on their previous visit!
What they don’t tell you - if you need an X-Ray, that department closes @ 8pm! So you will be waiting for nothing.
Only to be examined and ask to come back as a checked priority the next day or referred to HRI.
If you also join the queue at peak times, and do not get to see a doctor/nurse, the lights go off and your referred to HRI.

Emergencies & babies get priority as standard, just sit and watch them get called up.

THINK BEFORE YOU GO > 3 or 4 hours to wait to be seen.

Only good point. FREE PARKING!
shame there was no complimentary drinks or snacks during the wait.

Very disappointing service! Attended with an injury to my leg. Arrived at3.30pm and was greeted by a very rude receptionist. My husband found me a wheelchair as I could not walk. We were told to sit in the waiting room and I would be triaged soon. 90 minutes later I was called through and a lovely nurse took brief details of my medical history and how my injury occurred. I was asked to go back to the waiting room until a practitioner could see me. For the next 5 hours I sat and watched many people come and go, some had been sent by 111 and apparently have priority over walk ins. At one point a young lady arrived and asked to see a doctor as she had a problem with her tooth. The lovely nurse who triaged me appeared at the desk and told the receptionist this was her daughter in law and she had asked the doctor to see her. The young lady was asked to sit in the waiting room and lo and behold 30 minutes later was called through to see the doctor!
Finally at 9.55pm I was called through to see the nurse practitioner. She apologised for my long wait and in a very caring way started to examine my leg. By this point the leg was very swollen and bruised and she was unable to put any strapping on it due to the swelling and how painful it was. She advised me the long wait had not helped as my leg should have been elevated! Surely the triage nurse must have known this?
I was told I needed an X-ray but the unit was now closed and I would have to return the following morning. I was given a pair of crutches and advised to take pain killers and to keep the leg elevated.
The rude receptionist had finished her shift several hours previously and the new receptionist was very friendly and professional and gave me an appointment for the following morning.
I returned as instructed to be greeted again by the rude receptionist who was still looking like she was sucking a wasp and told to wait down the corridor. 10 minutes later the radiographer called me through. She explained she was a student and would need her mentor to check the positioning before she could take the X-ray. She was very professional, caring and mindful of how much pain I was in. I’m sure she will do well as she had a lovely manner about her and was reassuring and very calm. She helped me to get dressed and asked me to go back to the grumpy receptionist. As expected, I was told to go and wait for the results. No eye contact, no friendly tone, just down right rude. Two and a half hours later I was called through to see a nurse practitioner who informed me the leg was not broken and gave me a slip of paper with details of a website where I could make a self referral for physio if I was still in pain after a few days. So all in all not a good example of a great patient journey. Having worked in the medical profession for almost 40 years my advice to the manager of the unit would be 1. Send your rude receptionist on a customer service training course 2. If staff are going to allow their relatives to jump the queue do not broadcast it 3. Have two systems in place whereby those sent by 111 are dealt with by one team and walk in patients are dealt with by another. 4. Better triaging ( there was an elderly lady who came in with severe abdominal pain and clearly distressed who was kept waiting for almost three hours before she was seen).
For anyone thinking of going to Beverley minor injuries unit I would strongly suggest you go to A&E at Hull Royal Infirmary instead!

Wish I could give 0 stars! Not enough chairs in waiting area. Elderly/injured people sharing seats. Water fountain with no cups. Queues for x Ray many had waited 2 hours plus. At 1.15 radiography dept in its entirety closed and went for an hours lunch! Waited over 3 hours only to be referred back to Hornsea! Total inefficient shambles
