I'm quite a new patient to this surgery, previously with an outstanding surgery for 20 years. I have to say the reception staff are always really helpful and polite. They don't have an easy job and can't produce appointments they simply don't have, it isn't there fault. However, booking an evening or weekend appointment is quite handy and very easy to access via the hub on the NHS app. I would like to say a Big Thank You to Emma the healthcare assistant for going out of her way to help me and I really appreciate your help and kindness.

A couple of very rude receptionists. They should not be working in a doctors surgery. absolutely unhelpful and utterly useless! On the other hand, the clinical staff are knowledgeable helpful, and friendly. The GP partners need to perhaps run a reception staff review, and provide some relevant training including empathy and communication skills, and /or dismiss the rude staff.

On Saturday my daughter had a bad fall and was knocked into an unconscious state. A passerby ran to the surgery and fortunately Dr Kumar and one of his assistants, Emma was working (they are not usually open). They came straight to help and after examining her called an ambulance and promptly got her to hospital. I can’t stress how much we appreciate the care and attention that was given. Thank you Berwick Surgery you deserve the 5 stars given for your outstanding caring.

I understand fully the NHS is under wraps. But! I had to wait for 4 weeks for a phone call to be able to speak with someone regarding my issue. I finally waited all that time to speak with a nurse, Nurse Tettey I believe was on the phone. As soon as I answered the phone, the nurse before i even spoke! straight away told me the queue is very long?. I asked her I haven't even spoke to you about my issues yet, I haven't even had the chance to explain myself. I was then listening to her about her issues!? she told me "you don't know my story, I might be waiting too" I was shocked how i ended up waiting 4 weeks and then listened to the nurse about her issues... I came off the phone with no movement of my issues what so ever, no more appointments. Wasted time.

Worst ever surgery and worst part is they do not care about patients feedback or reviews. Staff on reception are worst and should not be involved in any client facing role. They should learn to respect patients.

Definitely THE worst surgery I have signed up with. My wife has been suffering with severe headaches and dizziness. She got a blood test done of which they got the results. Phoned them yesterday to check results and the incompetent receptionist said the results were all clear. Got a call today from the nurse to discuss the results and the issues. We advised the nurse we were told the results were all clear and she was shocked. In addition to this, you can never get an appointment nor do the receptionists respond to emails. Not sure why this surgery is still open. Will be complaining to PALS also. Sack your incompetent receptionists that haven't got a clue. They can't even respond to emails let alone reading blood test results

I have been using the surgery for 10 years. During that time I have not had any main problems or concerns.

Once the receptionist are able to answer the phone, they have been polite and helpful.

I have always been able to choose a doctor of my liking.

My only complaint has been that several years ago I was once told that I can only discuss one problem with the doctor and would need to do a double booking if I am discussing more than one. This I did and was still told that I could only discuss one issue as there was a queue.
