Barcroft are one of the best surgeries I have been with and I’ve moved around a lot.
I have phoned up several times to urgent same day appointments for my daughter, I have received a phone call back quite quickly with a face to face arranged and then medication prescribed. They take their time to listen to my concerns and always ensure I’m happy with the care they’re providing her.

I also have been seen myself and the doctors and nurses have gone above and beyond to help me offering call backs to ensure my medications are working effectively etc.

I can easily book routine appointments online and request my medications which is really handy and saves a lot of time!

I have had one dr be a little short on the phone but they are very busy and some times understaffed and doing the best they can.

Thankyou for all you do!

Shame they don't care as much about the health of their patients as they do about money. With holding medication because it cost too much.

I have today. Gone into this surgery on the Doctors instructions and she made appointment. Knowing I have a bowel problem and already aware I can't hold my bowels and still kept me waiting 40 mins (after which I had to leave and didn't make it across the car park!) Yet still they make a fuse about abuse they receive. What about the abuse they inflict on their patients. I have today decided to take this further as this doctor practice don't seem to want to do anything. The fact that they have a rating of 2 would make you think they would want to do better. Well Barcroft. I'm sorry if I cost you money. But by the time I am finished, it won't be as much as the fines you will get. I will also state this is not just me. Stop anyone in Amesbury and ask them about this surgery!!!!! Even told a Type 1 diabetic that she used to much insulin (she is on a pump!)

If I have an urgent medical issue it's very unusual that I can't get an on the day appointment or telephone call from the GP. My son has moderate asthma and has required urgent medical intervention. Everytime I've been concerned they have told me to bring him straight to the surgey where they have stabilised his condition. Amesbury is a vast area and grossly over populated. I wouldn't fault the surgery but the lack of GP services in the area.

Hard to get hold of but always polite. Always seems to be an issue. I've been misdiagnosed twice and my husband once. I placed a prescription order and two weeks later its not even been put through to the pharmacy. Hard to get a standard appointment. The staff all seem polite however where they are so understaffed it doesn't run smoothly anymore

Completely uncaring when THEY mess up.
I asked for a private referral in a face to face appointment a week ago due to huge amounts of uncontrolled pain and pretty much complete inability to use my right arm. Dr messed up the referral.
Apparently it takes the reception team 3 days (5 if you include the weekend) to ask the Dr to correct their mistake because reception are "too busy and it's not their fault".
After first drawing this to their attention on Thursday morning I have now been rudely told I have to give them until at least Monday afternoon to ask a Dr to submit my referral correctly.

The reception staff are very rude, even though I am speaking to them at a kind and respectful level they refuse to be the same back and yet they accuse the public of negative behaviour which is not true.
A woman named Carol who is a receptionist was not very informative, she kept rushing things along so she could hang up on me, after the first phone call she left me not knowing what was to happen with my repeat prescription so then I was left in the unknown.

She made it seem she didn’t at all care. She said I was “housebound” but still expected a written letter for the prescription even though there would be no way in me getting there due to my circumstances. She assumed I was “housebound” which was very discriminating as that is not at all what my situation was.

Incredibly rude and not at all great customer service, if your at all registered at these doctors you’ll be discriminated, uncared about and whatever you ask for they don’t provide you with any helpful/friendly information.

I believe the receptionist also has a duty of care to provide the public with information and the security of booking appointments as well as seeing them through but they do not at all provide that here.
I do hope this is resolved for the sake of anyone else registered with these people as it is not appropriate.

Barcroft have a new receptionist and she is absolutely brilliant. Really kind and empathetic. The last few times I've called she has answered I keep forgetting to ask her name, not sure how long she's been there as I don't get poorly very often. Her telephone manner is awesome. Keep up the good work. Five star rating. ?

Called the surgery today to make an appointment.

I am appalled at the complete lack of courtesy, compassion or empathy by the lady on reception who couldn't get me off the phone quick enough

When people call the surgery they may be concrened or anxious about their mental and physical well being, and the very least they deserve is to be treated and spoken too like a human being

The tone and attitude of the lady on reception when I tried to make an appointment was abominable. She was rude, presumptuous and made me feel like I really shouldn't be bothering her.

I appreciate that they may be receiving a high volume of calls at this time, but showing some small amount of empathy should be the bare minimum required when dealing with concerned patients
