The whole place felt friendly, clean and welcoming when I arrived and stayed that way with smiles commonplace. In my opinion the staff were genuinely interested in the home-guests; both physically and mentally and the home-guests receptive.

I attended the launch of a pudding club and although all those I sampled were a delight I most enjoyed the lemon flan with the summer fruit pudding a close second. Whilst there so many more, including a mother with her baby, of the local community popped in to say hello and each home-guest enjoyed it to the ability.

The general menu had tempting and homely content and all prepared by the Chef.

The home seems an ideal place for respite or long term care. I shall be recommending it.

My last job of the day was here and the hospitality was lovely. As I left I was given a cup of coffee and a cup cake - thank you.
It just set me up nicely for the drive home.

Before it became a residential care home, this was my family home. I was born here in March 1964. My parents were Dr Barry & Margaret Reedy. They purchased it from the original builder-owners in approx 1956. Those original first owners were the Levercuss (sp?) sisters, Gertrude, Elsie and Charlotte i think. One of those sisters was a doctor who set the house up to be a working practice with walk-in patients. I remember a very happy childhood here at the foot of the Chiltern Hills. Back then the back garden was a huge apple orchard. The neighbours were the Carruthers and the Criddles. Heaven only knows what happened to them? In 1972 my dad moved to Newcastle Upon Tyne taking his family with him. The house was sold to a Dr Hood back then whom I believe converted it to it's present day care home.
