Firstly the creation of aspen medical centre was supposed to ease the issues with appointments etc it does not. This place will cancel or rearrange your appointments with no warning, often with very little time, or notice for you to change your whole plans. They'll trot out the same excuses every time though. And should you dare to convey your annoyance in any way, the staff will scream that they're being abused! Places like the aspen centre are the reason GPs have such a bad reputation. The nurses are very good though.

If i could give zero stars i would. Husbands consultant requested a new medication be added to his repeats. Pharmacist called and refusing to prescribe it. After speaking to consultant today, husband does need to be on this medication. Consultant now writing to Practice. This could of caused my husband to be really unwell. Very poor treatment and who is a pharmacist to over rule a consultants request. Very poor practice.

Doctor said I need hole in heart patch. Hospital Bristol. 33 miles away. Need lift there and back. Sent message with a transport link. Don't qualify. Asked for other transport links no reply. 3 months later still no transport. Have informed Bristol they can't help. Emailed doctors surgery Horton Road no reply. Have had enough now and won't bother with stroke or hole in the heart treatments.

They waste your time while you negotiate their telephone answering service then, if you use their call back service, you'd better pick up in 10 seconds otherwise they are gone. You will never see the same GP twice. Good car park though.

I had a blood test a couple of days ago with Miss Kim Fong. What a professional she is! She was friendly and gentle . You can tell she loves what she does! I think management should ensure that all the staff of the surgery offer top notch service and show friendliness! 😌

Had a hernia appointment today went really well and all the staff were great. And the nurse from lydney was beautiful 10/10

Great facility. Ample parking, all staff are very friendly and accommodating. Had hernia surgery which was on time and very efficient. Everyone in the surgery was lovely, chatty and did everything they could to put you at ease. Much nicer than main hospital.

They are hopeless. Cancelling opportunities last minute and unable to give new 1s for over a month. Any time I call in I seem to be about 80th in the queue, they have a call back system for when you get to 1st. Takes about 6 hours, miss the call and you have to start over.

Disappointing experience overall. The administrative staff can be condescending, often leaving patients on hold for long periods while struggling to find accurate information. They sometimes act like gatekeepers and even discuss medical matters without proper training, which is inappropriate.

It’s also concerning that some G.P.s appear not to follow NICE guidelines, raising questions about the quality and consistency of care. Patients who aren’t aware of these standards could easily miss out on the support they need. The practice needs to improve both its communication and adherence to professional standards to ensure safe, respectful care for all patients.

I for one certainly miss the more patient centered approach that was in place before the surgeries amulgamated.

The surgery has 2 sets of standards those who shout the loudest get a result.Those who dont get a second class deal.
The NHS is an amazing national gem the best in the world , and have saved my life several times However Aspen need to get their act together they are failing Big Time !!!

I waited in for a call back from Dr Nash last Thursday between 8am-2pm as instructed. Yet again no phone call. No one has attempted to contact me since to apologise. I have tried several times since Thursday to call the practice but cannot ever get through. Just tried again today - waited on hold for 45 minutes only for them to cut me off. Absolutely appalling service. This is the second time in weeks Aspen have booked me in for a call back (to discuss blood results and other symptoms of ill health) and no one has contacted me on the day of the appointment. I can't even get through to tell them that Dr Nash has again failed to keep a telephone appointment. Twice in 8 weeks this has happened. Judging by other reviews of this place I am not the only patient being continuously let down by their GP and their medical practice. If I could give zero stars I would.

I spoke with Elaine, the receptionist at Aspen Surgery, and she was wonderful. She was kind, professional, and very patient in answering all my questions. Elaine made the process clear and stress-free, and her warm manner really stood out. Excellent service!

5 attempts to have an annual blood pressure review. 3 we're cancelled by the surgery and on the 4th occasion I had to leave after waiting 40 minutes past my appointment time, as I had to get back to work. 5th time lucky!
