I have no regrets or issues with St Peter's the staff are amazing. The units are excellent.
I don't drive , so when asked to go to Guilford hospital to have MRI's when St Peter's has the exact machines. I was baffled. .Please when my next one is dew can I please have it at St Peter's my local Hospital. Thank you.

Wonderful dept! I took my 84 year old dad for head scan and the staff were amazing. Dad has dementia and is not very mobile but Harold took so much time to explain the procedure and make sure dad was fine. He was also so patient with dad answering the safety questions form etc. couldn't fault the dept at all they were all so kind and helpful... especially Harold!

My consultant requested an MRI scan of my head.
This would be done by the MRI unit of St Peters.
I have a cochlear implant and I suggested to the consultant that St Peters would refuse to do it, since they have done so on at least one occasion before.
They did refuse. It appears that MRI is outsourced to Alliance Medical. They wrote a letter and copied me saying that "We are unable to scan these types of implants..........."
The implant is "MRI safe" up to a certain power scanner. The scanner at St Peters is within the scope which is suitable.
In fact Royal Surrey at Guildford have scanned my head and they told me (verbally) that the scanner they use is the same as that at St Peters, and they were happy to do the scan.
This caused a hiatus of over 4 months before I was scanned.
One difference (I am told) between the 2 hospitals is that St Peters outsource their MRI scanner and Royal Surrey do not.
This is absolutely not any criticism of the staff at St Peters. They were polite and working within the parameters set for them.
In my case there was no urgency. Had this been an emergency, one could envisage a different outcome

Pregnant women get blood tests only for them to be lost. Now unsure if health issues are present and won’t know for 4 more weeks. Disasterclass and useless NHS service as usual. There’s a reason it remains underfunded - enjoy those claps

The radiography staff were pleasant and helpful however the booking staff are rude, unhelpfull and will lie to make sure you don't try to rebook appointments. Then we get a call from the consultant who requested the scan informing us that the scan results had not been sent to him and could not be found anywhere. Privately run public services, saving money by cutting corners and not delivering.

Telephoned today. Waited 9 minutes as 7 in the queue. Held on until my turn. (Much longer - more like 20 minutes) Then recorded message saying too busy and to call back later. Now - phone constantly engaged. Terrible service.

Really nice department with friendly helpful staff a coffee machine and biscuits. Short wait time although it was in the late evening
