IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD!
Bridport medical centre is TOTALLY disorganised!!!
Receptionist can't even give you an appointment!!!!
How does that work when you need notice to be able to get a person with dementia to an appointment. Having to ring the person with dementia 4/5 times every day leading up to appointment to remind them that they have an appointment?
This place is a total disgrace...
Chaos rules....
Receptionists are drones....no longer see people as people....just doing my job guv!
Good luck

Receptionist abusive and refusing to book appointments. When told she was recorded her tune changed but all of a sudden I was 'rude' and got quite severely abused. Abuse isn't just shouting its in the way people speak. If someone calls up asking their doctors for help because they have been the victim of a serious crime they shouldn't have to deal with nearly 20 minutes of abuse. I have posted the recording for public knowledge as bridport had the right to know that our doctors surgery receptionists enjoys bullying vulnerable people

I have been in acute pain for two weeks. I have been offered an appointment in a fortnight's time and no advice or help. Very reluctantly I am joining those who think this practice is absolutely useless. It's a pity because for routine appointments such as blood tests I have always found the nurses very helpful.

What is the point of doctors if they won't see patients?

This Friday I was prescribed a cream after doing an online consultation only two hours beforehand. I went to Jhoots pharmacy in the same building to collect the cream. However, it was not possible for the pharmacy to obtain the cream through usual supplies, so the pharmacist recommended a similar cream. I went back to the Health Centre reception, and within 5 mins, they had arranged for a Doctor to authorise an updated script, and I got the cream in time for the weekend. This surgery provides excellent health services to our community, and the staff work hard to do their best. It's a shame that patients mainly post reviews regarding occasional problems rather than also taking time to highlight the excellent health services that Ammonite Health Care provides locally. Unfortunately, it seems we do not fully appreciate these services and that we often seem to take for granted.

Last Friday, September 1st., I had to phone The Ammonite Practice, as despite the online ordering system saying the prescription would be at the pharmacy on Thursday, it had not arrived.

I spoke with Peter, one of the receptionists/administrators and he could not have been more helpful.

Receptionists are often treated in a horrendous way. Their job is not an easy one, being the face of the practice, having to support patients who are often angry, frustrated or worried.

However there is no need to shout or belittle people who do this complex job, they want to help, and be helpful.

Peter is a credit to the practice for his calm, logical and supportive approach when responding to a patient query. Thank you. #BeKind

Possibly the worst GP surgery I have come across, no compassion, inconsistent care, lack of communication within, impossible to get an appointment and not much easier to even speak with a GP on the phone. Staff on reception act as a blocker to medical support and have lack of empathy. Just shocking and someone needs to address this.

E-consult a godsend. Filled out form at 6pm, got a reply & prescription by 9am next day. Faultless service. So much better than having to ring and try to make an appointment.
