I have been a patient at Amery House for many years so I thought I’d be in good hands when I was experiencing bad pain in my jaw, teeth and head. Dr Cronshaw was his usual charming self and was very reassuring that it was due to grinding my teeth and a mouth guard was the answer. This would take 2 weeks…after the first fitting appt was cancelled due to Dr Cronshaw taking a couple of days away from the surgery and the second being cancelled due to my impressions never having left his computer I have lost all confidence in him helping me with this ongoing problem and any future issues and have transferred to a different practise. This practise is definitely not the cheapest so a better, caring service would have been expected.

I have been attending this practice for some time for private dentistry, and have been most impressed with the quality of the dentistry being delivered. I saw Dr Cronshaw who did some cosmetic treatment on me. The treatment looks good, it is robust, and was pain free. Other take aways were the advanced equipment they seem to have at the surgery, and how friendly the staff are.

Whilst on holiday in the Isle of wight I broke my tooth. I managed to get an appointment at Amery House Dental Practice In Cowes. A fantastic Practice I was welcomed by a helpful friendly receptionist, Dr Mark Cronshaw after an examination carried out the treatment required. The standard of care I recieved was to a very high standard. I am happy to say I am now a patient at the Practice.

My first appointment at Amery house dental practice since the covid 19 outbreak has been such a reassuring experience. All staff were extremely professional and made me feel very relaxed and welcome. I was informed prior to my appointment of the gold standard changes they had made to ensure all staff and patients would feel safe and this certainly shone through! Would highly recommend👍

I don’t usually write reviews, but on this occasion I must praise the dental team for the great professionalism in the care I had received. The treatment was well explained before hand and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I recieved the best treatment from Mark and Frank who explained the whole process from start to finish and provided great aftercare. I will most definitely be coming again!

Sadly I have to give Amery house a one Star rating.
I went private expecting a Gold standard service, but I was wrong..
I had a very sensitive tooth and spent £690, (which I couldn't afford) on an assessment and Gold Onlay. The wrong tooth was treated and I still have the same problem I went in with.
I now have to resort to the NHS because I can't afford another Gold Onlay because the practice will not correct the original problem without another charge...
Very disappointed.

This is a absolutely lovely and charming practice, utterly professional and superbly run by the principal Dr Mark Cronshaw and his friendly team. Highly recommended to anyone living in Cowes area (and anywhere else). Easy parking over the road in the M&S Car Park and right be shops if you need a refreshing cup of tea before/afterwards. Great work on a new crown for me and very good attention to detail (and technology) throughout but especially re covid with thoroughly well air-conditioned air throughout. Excellent.

The service is great 5/5 stars. The Dentist is kind and everyone is nice.
After the dental work was done, the Dentist did a check of my mouth and found I needed to see the hygienist and get a filling. During or perhaps even before this conversation, the receptionist were informed and already preparing print outs of quotes.

The dentist said how I should get it checked and it's very important and the assistant will go with me to book an appointment with the hygeinist.

Literally within 10 seconds of telling me about a previously unknown issue, they were pushing me towards making another appointment. Pretty sure they have been trained in upselling.

There was no questions, "do you want to make another appointment?". Literally instead it was, my assistant will go with you to make an appointment, like I didn't have a choice.

This strategy of aggressive upselling probably works with older people or people who have a hard time saying no. And it is honestly pathetic and disgusting.

This dentist is a great dentist and it needs to drop this aggressive upselling tactic because it doesn't allow customers to think, consider other options or anything. Just pressures people in to paying more money for a service that 10 seconds before, you didn't even know you needed.

Absolutely pathetic.
