Alcester was one of five towns recommended to visit in a travel guide posted on Facebook. The other four were Bourton-on-the-water, Stratford-upon-Avon, Kenilworth, and Shipston-on-Stour. Having been to Bourton-on-the-water twice; which is a very nice picturesque town, I was hoping Alcester would be nice too. My first impression of Alcester was good. The town centre was covered in Union Jack banners giving the area a great British feel. The buildings, shops and church in the high street were quite nice too. Unfortunately, there just is not enough to see and do in Alcester to justify a place in the Top 5 towns to visit. It is certainly not a town in the same league as Bourton-on-the-water. So if passing Alcester it's a town worthy of a stop, but as I found, 30-60 minutes is all that is needed to explore everything.

I was glad to see a public toilet on the Waitrose supermarket carpark though, very useful!
