I have been waiting for nearly 5 weeks for Addenbrooke’s to send me an appointment, to see the Neurosurgery team .
I spoke to Addenbrooke’s today, to find out any information and I have been told, I have not been referred by my Doctors, this after seeing my doctor two weeks ago and being told by them, there is nothing they can do until Addenbrooke’s send me an appointment.
Absolutely disgusting way to treat a patient

Very Poor. They have Sat on my referal for over 6 weeks so far, instead of simply sending it off, no doubt all it takes are a few button clicks. They are very quick to dish out drugs though, without even seeing you! Like so many, just glorified drug pushers, putting profits before people.

Last week I had phone call appointment with the Doctor, could not understand him a word.
His english isn't good at all, I struggled to understood him plus he's accent is unbelievable. And today, I just called few minutes ago. The reception cannot seen any report from the doctor I spoke with last week. I'm not receiving my blood appointment and odothers medical issue. Is look like he couldn't care lest to put medical issues on record. I was waiting 48 minutes for the answer. And the reception told me to call tomorrow 8:30 to book appointment, and I spend 35 minutes explaining medical issues just wasting time they don't care, so is not point be register with them anymore. What's the point if the Doctor are not talking proper english plus he don't put anything on the system, and they are very rude and can't speak English at all.

I have just been greeted by a receptionist in the sweetest and most professional manner . She was on her own on the phone with her headset. when she spoke with myself the lady was so so polite and professional and updated me on all of my questions. This team I am sure have to put up with a lot from people who are not very happy . But I wanted to say thank you . X

I really don't understand these reviews.
I've been at this surgery for over 10yrs.
I've never struggled to get an appointment, even over lockdown.
You just need to call on the day at 9am and join the queue. you shouldnt have any problems.

Over the last month they have really been amazing. I have had 6 appointments made on the day and a very quick diagnosis of hyperthyroidism. Dr Laliwala called me only 24hrs after my blood test and gave the news to me very gently as he knew me well enough to know I might overreact. That's a proper doctor knowing his patients.

After my diagnosis I've made a further 5 calls to the doctor this month for various conditions caused by hyperthyroidism. I was called back by the nurse practitioner the same morning every time and treated appropriately and with care and understanding. I also had no problems getting prescriptions and the lovely pharmacist called me and kept me updated with medication that had to be ordered in.

I really think this surgery as ironed out a few hurdles from lockdown restrictions and the phone appointments are working well and there are more available.

Thank you Ailsworth

This surgery isn't even worth the 1 star. These GPs used to be okay but ever since Covid they act like royalty, and it's so hard to be seen by a GP (even with a neg covid test result). For months now my son has been diagnosed over the phone and after so many courses of antibiotics, he has now become worse. So bad he is losing hearing in his one ear. Avoid these people, they only care about their fancy cars and their status and has no empathy for their patients. It's absolutely disgusting. And you never get through to them EVER! They still have no queue telephone system and once you do get through, you're on hold for ages too! What about those poor people who's trying to get through and get a busy tone whilst you're on hold for ages. It's time to move on, so I would do the same and chose another GP.

As a family we have been with Ailsworth Medical Centre in excess of 10 years, and more recently registered parents / parents in law 3 years ago, following their house move. We have always found the staff to not only have excellent interpersonal skills in listening and responding to medical issues, but also demonstrate a vast medical competence and understanding in knowing when to refer for scans/ investigations / specialist services, as medical needs have progressed. The reception staff are always very understanding and helpful in making appointments and in escalating more urgent GP intervention when there have been sudden or severe health complications. The dispensing pharmacist is a huge asset to the practice, as he always goes above and beyond, both in dispensing routine medication, and in ensuring the quickest route to acquiring non-stock urgently needed medication items, which he personally co-ordinates. He has a huge sensitivity to the needs of patients and treats everyone with dignity and respect. We have also been very well supported with medication reviews from the practice Pharmacist for parents’ long term conditions to ensure that their medications continue to meet their health needs. The GPs and Senior Nurse Practitioner always listen attentively and are willing to discuss medical conditions. They take the time to explain both how the medical situation is presenting, as well as how the medical pathway options may progress depending on test results as appropriate. We feel extremely well supported and are confident that the practice operates within the highest standards of medical integrity.

Can't tell if this is a legitimate business or a front for something.. It's impossible to get in touch with the GP, prescriptions from other hospitals are processed months later or sometimes not processed at all, some repeat prescriptions not available online despite multiple calls reporting the issue..
This is more than incompetence, this practice needs to be investigated.

Edit: After a few months, I have to say it has only gotten worse. Now most of the time the phone number is unreachable so there is literally no way to get in touch. This shouldn't be legal...
