Absolutely fantastic service. I’ve just joined after moving . The difference between Abbottswood and my old surgery is incomparable, from the friendly reception and pharmacy to the ability to book a doctors appointment. The Doctor was fantastic too. I am very impressed so far. They even have a vending machine for repeat prescriptions that can be accessed 24/7

We were deeply disappointed with Abbottswood after they failed to provide the promised post-operative care for my mother following her hip replacement surgery. Despite initial assurances of home visits for essential services like changing medical socks, the surgery abruptly withdrew their support post-surgery, suggesting we resort to private care or social services instead. Attempts to address the issue were met with indifference, leaving us without the necessary support during a critical time. This breach of trust and poor communication has significantly impacted our confidence in this practice.

I had to attend the surgery for a test yesterday. I was quite nervous due to a past experience and the nurse was wonderful. She talked me through the whole thing and was so kind and understanding. GPs also really helpful and care about their patients.

Having recently moved to the area, I can’t begin to tell you how impressed I am with the surgery as a whole. Friendly, polite and helpful are just a few words to describe everyone I’ve come across so far. I came from a surgery where I was too afraid to ring up because of the receptionists alone but I can honestly say that so far I’ve been nothing but overwhelmed with the surgery. Drs and pharmacists have gone above and beyond and for the first time in a long time I feel supported

Had a really good experience for my first ever appointment at the surgery. Rang at 9, very nice person on the other end of the phone. Was offered app at 11 with doctor and students in attendance. Had a very thorough consultation with the two students who then call in the doctor in at the end for verification of their diagnosis. A very pleasant professional experience. I don’t know what’s changed in the past 6-12 months it was a great practise. Don’t get me wrong the medical staff are lovely and some great doctors. Shame the reception/admin staff are so rude and condescending, so rigid and not understanding at all. I think they need to remember they are here to provide a service they are in no way above any of us in station! A bit of flexibility with appointments too, you must call at 8am on the dot for a chance but unless you are retired or part time you may not have the ability to call at 8am on the dot and sit for an hour.

Had the most loveliest nurse ever at my blood test appointment today, 12:10. Thankyou, Made me feel really at ease and she had the most caring nature. ☺️ Receptionist was also lovely as I was checking in (I was running a bit late so was worried I’d missed my call!)
