Absolutely disgusting. Dr Mostafa called me for a review requested by my GP. He spent the call complaining about how the NHS is being ran and instead of trying to help he folded behind that.

The letter he wrote detailing the appointment we had was a joke, I specifically said that I am surviving, that I don't leave my house, he NEVER MENTIONED ANY OF THIS. Not once he assessed me for self harm, again he was moaning about how he can't do anything and cruising it.

Don't get your hopes up, don't waste your time, they are a joke and they don't care. I recorded the call so will be taking this further.

How dare you treating people like this?!

it was okay, I was in dbt group therapy. The only issue i had was that it wasn't flexible at all. I couldn't attend on Wednesdays, which meant I wouldn't receive any help whatsoever. The therapists were changing a lot, so it was hard to find the motivation to attend, so it was hard to form a connection with the staff.

It took quite a long time to get an appointment, so we were happy to get in. At first we we struck by the large building 90% empty. The original staff did well, their brows suffused by the gentle glow of following the appropriate guidelines. They started prescribing appropriate medication, and following up by phone. This was ok, but face to face would have been far better. After a time they asked if we were satisfied about the medication and side effects. I said I was not sure: they discharged us STAT! They said if we had any further questions they would still speak to us although we had been discharged. A few weeks later I phoned and asked to speak to the nurse. She said we had been discharged and would not speak to us. Good-bye.

I wonder what the original Laura Mitchel would think of them?

Completely unhelpful. They always make me feel like I'm a burden or a hindrance or like I'm too hard work. Yes I know I am difficult, but that's because I am really unwell, so you'd think they'd offer you more things to help, but instead they tell me they can't help me.

They also say a support worker is only for anxiety. So I aren't allowed one for the fact I struggle with every single aspect of life. Save yourself some time and heartache, and just see a gp and practice meditation and mindfulness. Coz I'm telling you you'll benefit way more than you would from that place.

Saddest bit is, Halifax' mental health statistics are really bad. And our only help is this place. Pathetic.

I've been attending for over 5 years seeing the lithium team for my bipolar disorder.
I couldn't expect any better service and patient care.
Appointments in the main are adhered to, bloods taken as per instruction & results promptly fed back & instructions whether to increase or decrease medication. Each time I go they establish what time medication was taken the previous night and the side effects checklist completed as it should be. If I'm unwell or concerned the psychiatrist opinion is sought the same day where possible.
This is not the same with the GPs as bloods are only taken but no time is recorded with previous dose let alone recording any side effects.
Path lab at the hospital were even worse when I informed the staff of my last dose all I got was "it doesn't matter as I've got nowhere to write it" The bloods for an accurate lithium level have to be taken 12hrs after the last dose of lithium so IT does matter.
I've only praise for the lithium team at Laura Mitchell clinic.

Don't listen to what you have to say, or at least they didn't with me and the women on the other end of the phone was just as bad as the male nurse who was assessing me. They're so condisending and literally will do anything ii get you out of the building, off the phone or just simply pushed away to a different service.
I tried to complain and have been dismissed and disregarded much like the help I've been trying to seek for myself.
No care or compassion from the NHS anymore.

This service is beneficial and the Doctors and Support staff are second to none, with the exception of one or two! I rate this service 3 stars due to the difficulty contacting reception and staff on reception as their response time is very poor! I feel the out of hours contact details and support is not made clearly enough to very vulnerable people using this service. I also suggest ALL staff, again with a few exceptions need to take note that the NHS and Government state "it's good to talk"? There seems to be a lack of effective communication between Consultants, GP's and other healthcare services/professionals which in my opinion, needs to be addressed immediately, in order to provide a better support for their service users and outside agencies.

I don’t know how much medical knowledge staff have there…if any, but for someone to tell my dad that he should be giving mum meds in a morning, when her Doctor said it should only be given in late afternoon/evening, unhelpful is a understatement, my poor mum has been fighting against the meds making life so hard for my dad who’s doing all he can as he looses his wife bit by bit
