In April 2018 I started to get a pain in my right foot while golfing. It got steadily worse over the next few weeks.

Mostly it felt like I had a small pebble under the middle of the ball of my foot. It would make it very uncomfortable to walk. I had to stop golfing. Other sensations were a burning hot sensation, a feeling of numbness and tingling that radiated out into my little toe. Some days the pain was not too bad and other days I could not sleep because my foot was so hot.

I was able to self diagnose via google that it was most likely a Morton's Neuroma.

Despite this early self diagnosis I went to multiple foot specialists and physios in Ireland and none were able to help me. I went for an MRI and that showed nothing of significance. I read that an ultrasound was the best way to confirm the presence of a neuroma but astonishingly I could not get an ultrasound approved in Ireland despite asking many many professionals to help and offering to pay for it myself.

After 6 years of searching thousands spent on insoles, massage and physios I stumbled upon the Barn Clinic offering Morton's Neuroma Cryosurgery treatment, available in Sheffield & London.

I had my 45 minute operation on the 10th July.

It is now 3 months later and I am walking 12k steps per day with absolutely no discomfort. I am so happy and grateful that this 6 year ordeal has been resolved by Mr Weaver and his team. It is such a relief to be able to walk pain free again. Damien

I highly recommend the Barn Clinic.
I am delighted with the results of the Cryosurgery for my Morton’s Neuroma. I was having considerable pain that was getting in the way of everyday life and am now able to get back out into the countryside for long walks that are pain free. Amazing!
The service I received from the Barn Clinic was fantastic right from the very first contact to the 24 week follow up. Initially I was provided with plenty of information that was clear and easy to read, the video clip was also very helpful and helped me make an informed decision.
All the team were really lovely and at the actual appointment I found Mr Weaver to be very calm and kind, I felt completely reassured and at ease during the treatment which was virtually painless.
A huge thank you to everyone at the Barn Clinic for providing such a professional and caring service.

After my Cryosurgery which I had back in 2022.
Initially I thought the surgery hadn’t worked for me but many months later I was back running resuming triathlon training in May 2023 and completing my first Ironman wales in September 2023?.
This year I’ve competed in numerous triathlons and again looking forward to my second Ironman wales this September.
Just want to say a massive thank you, it’s really changed my life.
Will probably be back to see you in the future as I don’t want to stop training .
Thanks again, this has really changed my life.

I am writing this 12 weeks after my neuroma treatment at the London office. My recovery has gone just as Mr Weaver suggested it might - two weeks of no pain whatsoever, then a feeling of a pad under my foot, and an 'awareness' of the nerve along the toe. I say 'awareness' because it has been no more than that. I gradually continued adding time on my feet, and when the awareness arrived, sat down. At 8 weeks my husband & I took a train journey from Seville, through Cordoba, and on to Granada, the idea being that if my foot felt sore we could have a coffee and watch the world go by. I didn't need any painkillers on the trip, and covered about 11 km each day with the walk and rest approach.

Tension is draining from my body - my shoulders have relaxed and I walk freely and happily. After 3 years of pains like lightning shooting from my toes to my shoulder blades I am pain-free. I had tried supportive insoles and had the cortisone injection, but was reluctant to go all the way with a nerve incision, so decided to try cryosurgery.

Mr Weaver explains everything clearly, and the actual procedure is surprisingly quick. I am so happy that I went to him, and only wish I'd gone sooner.

Thank you, Barn Clinic.

I wish that I'd discovered The Barn Clinic years ago!
I struggled with excruciating pain of a Morton's Neuroma for about 2 years, and had cryosurgery at the Sheffield Clinic in September 2023.
In the following months the pain came and went (never as severe as before the cryosurgery though).
6 months into recovery there is no day to day pain in the previously affected area, just very light passing discomfort if I've walked or cycled more than 6 miles or so.
I would really recommend Mr Weaver and The Barn Clinic. The Sheffield facility is modern, comfortable, and within very easy reach of Sheffield Railway Station.

It took me along time and much research via the Web before I contacted The Barn Clinic.
There were a couple of months before any treatment could commence, which in a way I was happy with as it shows to me a number of people were actually being treated for their various complaints.
I went to the London Clinic and received my treatment for Morton’s Neuroma. The advice I was given and the projected recovery times and small side effects I would experience were exactly as predicted. I now find myself pain free and have worked my way up to walking about two miles a day locally. If you are considering treatment reserve a spot as early as you can and hopefully like me you will recover enough to be able to get about and walk pain free.

Unfortunately this experience has been nothing short of disastrous. I'm happy for the people that got a good result but I think the risks should be laid out more clearly and the clinic should be a little more honest. For example, the main reason I chose this treatment was due to the advertised short post surgery recovery time. I did not discover that the recovery time was actually 6 weeks until the day of surgery. By then my deposit was paid and I was in the clinic. Only then was I told that I had more than one neuroma and they may require treatment too in the future.
After an initially promising few days I was thrown into abject agony. I am now struggling to keep my job, back on the NHS waiting list and £2,000 poorer. Buyer beware.
