Lovely People but a clear sign of the wider systemic problems of the NHS and how the system (not the staff) are failing patients.

"You'll have to call back in 5 days to make an appointment, we only release fixed 2 weeks slots on Mondays".

Why? Its a booking, surely you can just 'make' bookings further in advance. For times when making an appointment can be daunting/time consuming, you as the patient are forced to continuously check-in to even get an appointment window, let alone the further 2 weeks for that appointment to happen.

I imagine this puts some people off and allows health problems to compound/their review to be delayed - creating further strain on the NHS.

Only rating 2 - stars instead of 1 because I found the e-consult platform very useful and quick the other week - a rare gem.

Awful practice and entirely unhelpful staff.

I am on holiday and have symptoms of a UTI, NHS24 very clearly stated that the standard procedure for me to get antibiotics would be by contacting the GP and becoming a temporary patient.

I call the reception and on the first day they had no appointments and told me to call back the next day. I call the next day only to be told "Sorry, we can't do anything for you" despite this being STANDARD PROCEDURE in these situations.

Now I'm currently sitting in Royal South Hants Hospital, where I have been waiting 3 hours already, just for a prescription due to the utter laziness and contempt of the staff at this practice.

Absolutely disgusting service provided by these useless, lazy and contemptful individuals at this practice.

After being ill with a nasty virus for over 10 days i found that it left me really struggling and I knew I had a water infection so called the surgery. I couldn't of asked for better service, the appointment was very quick and they not only confirmed the water infection but also that I had a chest infection. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly as the staff always are. I've been with archers for 40 yrs plus and have never had any problems.10/10 for the service and the fast treatment.

Great practice , called in for an appointment explained my symptoms and the receptionist was very helpful and booked an urgent appointment .
The doctor was very thorough with my examination & explained the treatment & medication for my ear infection. And if it didn’t clear to call back into the practice . I was very happy with how nice all the staff were and my treatment. 5*

Terrible GP surgery. The receptionist is the worst, they speak so rude and they aren’t willing to help with anything. I had a prescription from the emergency department and it was sent to the practise however there was so much hassle for THEM to find it even when I had contacted the hospitals pharmacy and the doctor I was seen by. The lady who I had contacted through to the emergency department had sent various emails regarding my prescription and discharge summary. There was so much hassle and back and forth with the receptionist just because they weren’t bothered to properly check my records. The following week I had contacted the practise to ask if they had received my prescription and they said that they had and it was sent to my nearest pharmacy. I contacted the pharmacy and they had said said that nothing was sent through. So I have been without my emergency medication for nearly a week because the GPs don’t want to do their job - one at which they are horrendous at (they google your symptoms in front of you) - as it has to be checked by them first. Prior to me going to the emergency department my condition was ongoing and I had multiple emergency phone calls with the practice GPs which was no help at all as the advice they were giving wasn’t helping which I had emphasised to them. Then my condition had worsened that it was required for me to go to the A&E where the doctors had said why wasn’t I told to go to the hospital a month earlier. Overall a horrible practise with the absolute worst receptionist.

I had an appointment for the blood test at 15:30 06/02/2024, this was booked after seeing the doctor which took me whole month. As I had non emergency infections.

On the appointment date for the blood test I was running exactly 3 minutes late when I turn up to reception and Hailey was dealing with newly born baby's parents. By the time she finished with them and her admin it was 15:38. Hailey refused to take my appointment because I turn up 8 minutes late and reschedule for 16:20 (which I was okay with). And I fully understand the work load NHS staffs dealing with.

Since my appointment was rescheduled to 16:20 same day, I had 40 minutes in spare and I treat myself with KFC nearby in town. While I was eating KFC I had a call from Hailey saying she can't take the appointments and only can reschedule to 15 days later.

From this point I started thinking, I was only 3 minutes late, I'm a good citizen, I pay tax and I contribute £366.36 NI evey month. Hope I wasn't racially accused.

I was only 3 MINUTES late due to work, traffic and parking plus I don't want to make big issues.
My case may not be important here but I don't want people to suffer in this GP just because people think they got POWER to turn away the appointment.

We recently joined Archers Practice this year and are extremely happy with how easy it is to make an appointment, all staff are helpful and polite. Easy to ring and make an appointment, for myself, my wife and our children without being on hold for ages and they are almost always running on time. Doctors are very helpful and and will get your problems sorted ASAP!
Very happy!!
