We would like to thank the entire staff of Senlac Veterinary Surgery for their warmth and professionalism. Our dog Pebble has, after years of good health, had the most terrible year: fractured teeth; a liver mass and, now, Addison's. The difficult diagnosis of Addison's came from a chance conversation with Lucasz who listened to us when we mentioned that Pebble had responded well to steroid antibiotics when being treated for an ear infection. We mentioned that it was as though she had been given a youth drug. This prompted Lucasz, in collaboration with the excellent vet team, to fast track and get a rapid diagnosis of Addison's. Addison's responds to steroids and is notoriously difficult to diagnose. Pebble was deteriorating rapidly and without this expertise, professionalism and urgency, she could well have lost her life. Now, only a few days later, she is transformed. We are also grateful to the nurses who have been wonderfully supportive and tender with Pebble. They showed us how to get tablets and nutritional food down her when she was having trouble swallowing. We would also like to commend the reception staff ( they must be sick of the sight of us by now) who helped maintain our flagging spirits with their empathy and good humour. We are to see Lucasz next week, where we will discuss a life long treatment plan. Thank you all for the magnificent team effort and we love how you all work together. The only complaint is from Pebble who really does not understand why we seem to spend so much time at Senlac when there are balls to fetch and squirrels to chase.

I was first registered with these vets in around 2001. I called as my elderly dog with dementia and lung cancer had had a stroke and needed to be euthanised. I never unregistered with them, but I was taken off their list because I'd not used them for a few years (because I'd had no ill dogs until this one), My dog had been diagnosed with the sarcoma and dementia by another vet as a visitor when I was away from home. This vet had since passed on.
Senlac vets refused to put my suffering dog out of his misery because I'm no longer registered with them despite never unregistering. Eventually, when I would not take no for an answer, the person taking the call said she'd speak to a vet and promised that one of them would come back to me. That was September 2023-no call yet.
Luckily, I eventually found a surgery who would put my darling old boy out of his misery, but he suffered for 24hours longer than necessary, thanks to Senlac.

Though it was sad to say goodbye to our wonderful dog while on holiday in the area the staff at Senlac Vets went that extra mile to not only see us quickly, they were very supportive at a time of great sadness. I would highly recommend Senlac Vets.
