This nursing home is appalling. My mother was placed there for the last few months of her life having dementia. The manager is rude and lacks compassion. My mother could not access the call bell as it was placed out of her reach; her bed was often soiled and left like that; her room was not thoroughly cleaned and the toilet was often in an unhygienic state; when she was showered the water was not cleared from the floor leaving a hazard for her; the manager refused to acknowledge that my mother had a hearing problem; her food and fluid intake were not monitored carefully; she was treated roughly by some of the male carers; money was stolen from her handbag.
The most upsetting issue was when my mum passed away the money which had been kept in their safe was handed to me with the words ‘lady of the manor’ written on the envelope.
I have written to the owner who has ignored my letter. This place ought to be closed down - it is not fit for purpose. Avoid at all costs.

We were a little concerned after reading previous Google reviews but our Mum has been at Palm Court for a while now and we cannot fault the wonderful care she is recieving.
Staff are always welcoming and approachable and really seem to genuinely care and connect with the residents. The manager Shaina takes to time to keep us updated and has helped make what has been a distressing time for our family a little easier.
Thank you to all the team at Palm Court for the wonderful care they give.

My father was here 9 years ago so may have changed. You could smell urine when you entered the building. Everyone sat in a big room looking at each other. Dreary and no stimulation given to residents. Had to move my father somewhere else as he kept getting bruises and when I asked why, nobody knew and there was no record of it. Later on my father told us that one of the staff was rough and pushed and shoved him all the time and sometimes hit him so we quickly had him moved.

My dad was in there 5 years ago.The standard of care was dreadful,the meals shocking.Dad was hardly ever given any of the medicines prescribed by his doctor and the hospital.On the day he died my mum was asked when she would collect his belongings.It was almost a relief when he died.Seeing him deteriorate so fast was harrowing. Was 3 years ago, but this place was horrible. My grandad stayed and the place was the least stimulating everyone sit down and stay still place around. Dementia care was of very poor standard and very understaffed.
Ended up moving somewhere far better in nearby bexhill. To get him out of this hole was the greatest thing we could do for him

Disgusting. Horrible staff. Looks good from the outside but it's absolutely astonishing how poorly the residents are taken care of.
